fair enough, they did make a good comment on premplus that when watford get relegated the price will come down so will they cash in on him now and make a killing.

I heard that and I think they're wrong. Relegation never hindered Brum when they were flogging Pennant, did it?!Originally posted by Parm View Postfair enough, they did make a good comment on premplus that when watford get relegated the price will come down so will they cash in on him now and make a killing. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

i think we were hindered in the fact the we were desperate for a rw and missed out on Alves, Brum played us on the fee. no thanks also to the Wallet's negotiating skills.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI heard that and I think they're wrong. Yeah made alot of loose passes, but very versatile.Originally posted by Parm View Postdidnt think too much of him today, looked very average and not much of a threat, defo not worth the 9mill that has been bandied about.
Which could work against him, if he is a jack of all trades and a master of none, he will never make it to world class.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Would like to see him playing in just the one role though, liek yourself, I havnt seen enough of him, he seems a confident enough lad, was trying to arganise things for his team aswell which was good to see.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostTruth is, I've not seen enough of him to comment. It does seem a big fee for him but if he turns out to be top class, it'll look cheap. however, it doesn't appear if Chelsea, The Arse, The mancs or LFC are in for him, which probably tells you all you need to know.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

He was nowhere today. Saw nothing from him at all. I accept we are defending well but he caused a top class defence no problems at all! Not worth 9m based on that. Even Crouch can do it against the lesser sides. We need someone who can rise to the bigger games in England and Europe to make the difference...like the lad at Newcastle used to do........

West Ham United have tabled an £8 million offer for exciting Watford forward Ashley Young.
The Guardian says Alan Curbishley is so keen to sign the England Under-21 forward that West Ham's Icelandic owners have made an offer that would break the club's previous record purchase of Dean Ashton for £7.25m. However, Aston Villa remain in the hunt and Tottenham have also not given up hope of capturing the 21-year-old's signature.
Villa have made a substantial offer, believed to be about £7m, and Watford would no doubt be delighted if the price continues to escalate in a bidding war. They would prefer not to sell to West Ham as relegation rivals, but have not ruled it out if the financial terms are right.
Liverpool have dropped out of the running for Young because of his valuation, but Watford's manager, Aidy Boothroyd, said this week: "There are players out there who have gone for £8m-plus who do not have what he has."Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If this guy is the best player in the prem outside the top 4 then the Premiership is as **** as they make out.
I know its only one match to judge him but he did fook all today and contributed a couple of passes thats all. 9 million for him??? your havin a laugh!! His house must be on a very expensive bit of land in London to charge that priceWhen you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

Only saw MOTD but he did appear to be involved in anythin remotely resembling an attack they had. Seeings as everyone else was doing nothing he would have been hard pressed to do very much. So all the game proved is that he isn't Maradonna, which I'm pretty sure we already knew. I know that it is not a perfect yardstick but on fantasy PL he has 86 points - level with Scholes and 12th best in the division. Considering how few goals Watford have scored he must be involved in nearly all of them, which I think speaks well of him.Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostIf this guy is the best player in the prem outside the top 4 then the Premiership is as **** as they make out.

I think that a structured £8-9m might well be the going rate for talented PL proven youngsters. To pay the money up front would be foolish. I guess it comes down to who we would get instead. Which in turn I guess depends on the plans of DIC and how much we will have to spend in future."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

:bird:It's a pity you didn't see the whole 90 minutes then. He had one decent shot but was otherwise completely and utterly anonymous. I can't see what he'd add to our squad. Pennant at his worst has looked much better. It's interesting that it's apparently Villa who are offering silly money for him with West Ham also very interested. Clubs like that are his real level.Originally posted by dww View PostOnly saw MOTD but he did appear to be involved in anythin remotely resembling an attack they had.
