    Let's cut to the chase.

In short, do you think inheriting a side that finished fourth the year he took over, being given three seasons and 80 million pounds to spend is enough to mount a serious title challenge ?

No, judging by the goalposts being moved by the likes of Chelsea and Manure, it isn't enough.

He has been give around £41m-£42m, not £80m.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Hand on heart, if Rafa had a massive budget, would you trust him to buy the right players?

          I'm not convinced.

On the day that the chavs played manure, I read a piece that said manu's starting 11 cost £119M, Chavs cost £141M, our starting ll (which for some reason the journo decided to add the injured Alonso and injured Sissoko) cost £45M. A huge difference, and yes, as said, the goal posts have been moved in recent years.

              Yes.

He has showed that he want the right type of players but he hasn't been able to sign them.

It should say that he has been given £8.335.000 nett/window. He has spent more but that is after he has sold off players.

                  Ok fair enough.

What about hand on heart, that he'd know how to use those players to their best once he's got them?

That makes three of us then.

His first choice players has played very good for us.

If Rafa don't deliver next season if he gets a lot of money to spend then it's the time to start doubting him IMO.

With deliver I mean challenging for the title the whole season.

                        I'm still backing Rafa 100%.

We're the outcasts. The doubters. The merchants of doom.

I remember being called the same in the GH days.

It doesn't mean we don't like Rafa it just means we are not convinced about the players he will purchase.

He can easily convince me but I suppose it's a case of once bitten and all that,

                              Exactly mate.

Didn't take long for a Rafa appreciation thread to turn up did it? People get so ****ing defensive.

To those who are unconvinced - would you like us to change manager? I'm not being aggressive - just interested. I do not believe in Rafa's infallibility - he's bought a few duds and there's a few where I don't necessarily see the reasons they would make us stronger. However, I do believe that Rafa knows what he is trying to achieve and has the ability to reach his goals. I think that we need to allow him as much time as he needs to do this.
The first year here he took a team that was on the wane and won the Champions League - I was wondering at the time when/if we would again win a major trophy. He took a lot of stick for our league form though, but remedied that the following year when we reached a points total that would have seen us challenging for the title almost any other year.
Tuesday was embarrassing but Wenger is a genius and has had years and years to build up his youth system and develop the playing style. I think Rafa can do the same for us.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.
