But Rafa has installed a Spanish style setup at Liverpool and very rarely allows first team players to play in the Reserves. Instead, the reserve team is now like an under 21/ youth team in disguise. The majority of players in the reserve team are around 18 give or take a year.

To be fair, isn't that generally the case at all Prem clubs now? Certainly Man United have a similar approach, and (I'm guessing) I'd imagine at the very least the 'top' Premiership clubs treat their reserve teams the same way.

Remember Albert Luque, he/ newcastle played against our reserves and scored 2 good goals and got a hard-on - in reality its no achievement scoring a bunch of kids when you're (or were) a Spanish international

Yep it is the case. Buts its epecially true of ourselves, Chelsea and Arsenal.

I'd also like to add that our reserve team players are technically very good players and there is a brilliant mix of homegrown players and foreign players. Suprsingly, its some of our homegrown players that are the most technically gifted - this is contary to what Trevor Brooking has been saying about homegrown players not being techinically good anymore (he is right in saying this though). If these young guys are gonna exceed, they're gonna need to beef up a little. I reckon a few evening sessions at the gym and a few nightime sessions at a kebab house will resolve this matter.
