I have a read alot from posters about Rafa;s inability in the transfer market, but i dont think he has done that bad.

I would say the players he has spent BIG money on have been a succes
ie Alonso and Kuyt(so far, so good)

Agger at around 5 was expensive for a young defender and looks a quality purchase.

I think he would have bought them 3 even if he had the dics money. I dont believe apart from maybe Garcia he would have bought any of the others ie bellamy, crouch,pennant, nunez, josemi etc/

So why do people not think he would be good in the transfer market with pots of cash? I know he inherited most of the Valencia team, but did he make any major transfer cock ups/successes at valencia?

I think both sissoko and reina have been excellent signings and good value at their prices.

your spot on with the crouch, bellamy, pennant etc. group. if rafa had the financial backing he deserves wed have better players in many of those shirts.

the summer should see this change at long last
