If eurosport are correct and The Sheikh buys Marseilles then surely he can't have any connection with us due to Fifa / UEFA regulations?

FFS! Do you seriously think that DIC would pick Marseille over us? And they would have wasted all their time and money on preparing a bid etc.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostIf eurosport are correct and The Sheikh buys Marseilles then surely he can't have any connection with us due to Fifa / UEFA regulations?

Nope, just going by what the Swedish press are reporting + Its common sense anyway, we're arent going to be paying that sort of money for a Swedish 2nd Division bench warmer, you'd probably get the top 10 players out there for £2m, well you wouldnt but you know what I meanOriginally posted by Morphorino View Postyou on the inside of the deal mate?

I'm asking because I definately read more than once that we were looking to tie up a deal and that that would be the signing fee. Wasn't the manager quoted as saying something along the lines of they'd never received that much money from transfer ever.Originally posted by Chris View PostNope, just going by what the Swedish press are reporting + Its common sense anyway, we're arent going to be paying that sort of money for a Swedish 2nd Division bench warmer, you'd probably get the top 10 players out there for £2m, well you wouldnt but you know what I mean

They probably havent as they're a tiny tiny Swedish Club with a 4000 stadium. If anyone thinks we'd pay £1m-£2m straight off for a Swedish Second Division bench warmer no matter how good he is they're mad. Take Eurosports article put it into Swedish Kronor then you have the prices. If what they're saying is true that it could go up to 10m euros then thats probably the biggest deal in Swedish history let alone this tiny clubs, its bollocks mate.Originally posted by Morphorino View PostI'm asking because I definately read more than once that we were looking to tie up a deal and that that would be the signing fee. It's reported as the biggest transfer fee ever paid for a 16 year old Swedish player. The old record was around £250k.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Dont want to sound patronising but can you seriously not see the difference?Originally posted by Morphorino View PostThing is, we paid 2mil for Paletta around this time, so why isnt it a possibility?
Paletta was signed having played for Argentina at Youth Level and some under 20s tournie or whatever it was with Messi and co, he was about 19 and was making a name for himself for an averaged sized club in Argentina's top Division.
This is a 16 year old Swedish lad who is currently not getting into the team of a club who are in the Swedish 2nd Division with a 4000 seater stadium, he's also only played around 5 games for them. They're the equivalent of a Scottish 2nd 3rd Division team mate, look at this McCarthy lad he wont be going for a million or more and hes got half of Europe after him by the look of it.
Its not impossible we'd pay millions for a 16 year old, far from it but a 16 year old from this League? Totally impossible.
