I see him more as a link up forward than an out and out goal scorer, which is what we need.

Apart from the fact a very good chance he won't hack it in the PL.

But then if as per last year he was in directors box and he came now buy that sentiment we'll be signing Villa this time next year
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

      i'd bite yer hand off
hes still young and has broken nearly every record in real madrid
things have gone stale for him in the last few yrears though he has slightly improved this year.
a change of scenery and a fresh start, who knows what could happen.
saying all that though i reckon its just paper talk.

I would love an on form Raul playing for Liverpool but unfortunately my head overules my heart and suggests it has a faint whiff of someone trying to go for one last money spinning move.

It basically says Rafa has made an enquiry through a third person, but Raul wants to stay. However if Real continue with their new policy of no over 25s then Raul's agent is confident of finding him a club in June blah blah blah

He is 30 in June. He's small, fragile, and isn't used to the pace of our game. He probably doesn't want to leave Real, would he have the hunger to succeed for us? I wouldn't sign him personally.

for pure sentimental reasons i would absolutley LOVE this to happen. He still has a fair bit left in the tank, and he could be just what we need. There arn't many smarter footballers in the world than Raul, we lack genuine forward creativity.....something which he has in abundance.

i wouldnt pay anymore than a few mill though.

He's not fragile at all. He's hardly had any injuries in his career. I would take him, he's a brilliant player.

Except for the four months he missed when suffered a partial tear of the cruciate ligament and damaged the cartilage in his left knee when he miscued a shot on 19 November 2005.

Raul has had a lot of injuries in the last 3 yrs.

I reckon he just needs a new challenge. He's not had too many injuries, just lost form, and isn't yet 30. Remember how good he was 2 or 3 years ago. He's not short although he's not the strongest. His touch vision and finishing are all top notch and he's not devoid of pace by any means. He creates chances from all positions and gets away from his marker with regularity. Also his intelligence on the pitch is excellent.

I think he could regain form at Liverpool and under Rafa and if so he'd be incredible. A perfect partner for Crouch or Kuyt as well I feel, and the link between midfield and attack that we're so desperate for, added to his potency in front of goal (44 in 102 for spain and 180 in just over 400 for Real). Top signing if he comes, unfortunately it strikes me as a pipe dream.

                      That's the only serious one.

i've never seen what all the fuss is about with Raul. He's obviously a top notch player but whenever i've seen him play on the box, he's been very ordinary.

Is he LFC bound, I wouldn't have thought so but you never know.

                          I hope is isn't coming.

I can imagine him to be more trouble than he is worth.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

I don't mean injury prone, I mean he isn't physically robust and would get knocked off the ball a lot.
