So what do people make of him now?
He's needed a 'settling in' period, to which he was perfectly entitled, and he gradually seems to have found his feet. In pure, technical terms he is a FAR better footballer than the hugely limited Riise will ever be.
Unlike the agricultural, hoof-merchant JAR, he has vision and a range of passing, crosses consistently well and is tougher than many people give him credit for. His biggest weakness would appear to be a lack of concentration - he can be careless and get sucked out of position, but as things stand he's got to be our first choice left-back/wing back.
Our ball retention was much better today and that IMO was due in no small part to having Aurelio there instead of Riise who, time and time again, hoofs forward the most ugly, hopeful balls.
Thoughts? I'm sure there'll be some who vehemently disagree. Let battle commence!
