He played well today and was our MoM. But his finishing still leaves a lot to be desired as does Crouch's.

I thought he was excellent today, (yes im welsh but unbiased) he ran positively at defenders, scored one 2 assists, I think the formation helped him as Kuyt did a lot of the donkey work. He must always play away from home as he gives us genuine pace at all times which no other of our strikers can do. Rafa just teach him the offside rule and he will be a 20 goal a season striker.
      08-09 Dirk monitor

      5 goals (target 15)

      3 assists also........

I'm not Welsh And I am Happy that he's Finally starting to deliver what I expected from him. It's obvious that the Court case he had was distracting him. Since it finished, he's been Flying. Easily our Best Player

Just hope he has learnt his Lesson and stays away from

although in fairness fella, some of the slappers in number 10's in Cardiff probably went looking for him

he really should just avoid going out in town next time he's on international duty.

he obviously can't handle drinking in Cardiff like i can

I was against signing him at first but he is a class act, not as good as Owen no matter what some people might say. He needs to get more goals though.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

I think he is doing great. He tries very hard all game and even when things dont work out it looks like he has had a good go. He doent lose it badly like a few other playrs and shake his head.

He maybe not scoring loads, but lets give the team and players a bit of credit. He scored one and assisted two today, if SG had done that we would have been shouting loud about it.

After a couple of bad results, 3 nil today (against a bad team i admit) is good result and a job very well done.

Well done all players and staff for today

I have to admit though at this stage he's doing better than I ever thought he would. He's making more intelligent runs than he used to and as a result isn't getting caught offside as much and his unselfishness is one of the things that has improved my opinion of him. His lay off for Crouch' 2nd goal today was excellent as was his later lay off to Stevie, which in fairness Gerrard should have done alot better with. He shoots when he knows that he can at least make the keeper work and passes when he can't so that's good IMHO. No point shooting just for the sake of it.

I do think he has done really well and i have seen him in every game this season, today and against Blackburn he was very clever in his use of the ball but i would like to see him take on the the defender a little bit more or shoot from the edge of the box because for me he was very predictable looking to lay the ball off every time he received it as i said he had a great game today but i would love to see him being a little more direct at times.

Btw the lay off to Stevie had a little bit too much pace on it, it wasn't an EXCELLENT lay off.

He's improved enourmously since the court case, and was our Mom yesterday, just ahead of Kuyt. But they all need to stick the ball in the net more often (the bread and butter chances). Some of the misses again yesterday left me with my head in my hands (again)

I agree completely, we have the Chavs next week and we need to be more clinical or they will punish us. Crouch needs to start putting some power into those bloody headers of his too, its frustrating watching him cushion the ball back to the opposition goalkeeper when hes completely unmarked.

He's doing much better now and it's good to see, but he's still not wholly consistent. He was gash in the Cup fiasco against Arsenal midweek, although in fairness to him he obviously wasn't the only one.

FWIW I think he's very unselfish and he's set up a good few goals with (what appear to be) simple square balls for a tap-in, but many strikers in those positions would've taken a shot.

I like Bellamy. I still think there's more to come from him - which is meant as a compliment.

I'd say since the court case finished Bellamy has been our best player. His workrate combined with his pace and skill is giving opposition defenders numerous problems. He drifts wide, drops off the player occasionally, looks to get behind defences and it makes him hard to be marked. He is the one player who gives us some cutting edge in the side. He is also the one player we can't replace, as he is the only striker we have with top pace. An upgrade on Cisse in my opinion. He might not get as many goals as the Frenchman, but he is a far more complete player.

He is one of the players who sets the tone with his high tempo approach. I think when we play at high tempo we look a much better team. Sometimes I think Bellamy is let down my his teammates who can't player the game at the same pace as he does. He looks best linking up with Gerrard, with one / two touch football.

You don't have to be Welsh to realise he has been playing extremely well recently.
