Premiership's form team in a crisis?

Ok, we had a horror week in the cup last week. But we are the form Premiership team. FACT.

With 15 points out of our last 6 games it goes to show we have got some of our consistency back.

If we can win this weekend and Arsenal can top the Mancs then we'll be 5 pts behind Chelski and 11 behind the Mancs. Never say never they say.

We've got all of our harder away fixtures out of the way except for the Toon. It's not impossible for us to go through the rest of the league season unbeaten, and we shouldn't of really lost to Blackburn.

If we are to make a late charge then we MUST start beating some bloody big teams. 3 wins v Arsenal, Mancs and Chelski would do, only if it was that easy.

    And so it begins.

there is always hope. If we win this weekend and the mancs drop points then who knows. But if we lose then **** it!

Your optimism amongst all teh doom and gloom is so refreshing.

I commend your optimism but suggest you keep thoughts of all our hardest fixtures out of the way out of your mind till sunday.

I don't think the scum are catchable, but the chavs certainly are. a win against them will certainly help. I'm not really fussed where we finish, either 2nd 3rd or 4th would do for me. We won't win, but if we can show some consistency then we have half a chance of shutting people up till next season begins. obviously taking our league for into the barca ties will help.

However, conceding only 1 goal in 11 games is an amazing stat, much like our run of last year. Long may it continue.

beat the chavs on saturday and I reckon we can catch them; but the mancs are out of sight.

              almost out of sight.
Lets just say we win against the chavs and the mancs lose to the gunners, thats down to 11points. If the chavs and the gunners beat the mancs then it's down to 5 points. If we can beat them it's down to 2 points and they could easily drop 2 points here and there. It's not quite over yet and it would involve a super human effort on our part and bit of luck.

a lot of if's there and if we win all our games.

put it another way are we looking behinds us at say the bluenoses to overtake us.

also if Chav's beat them they will be higher up the table than us.

think we're 50-1 to win PL and that about sums it up i'm afraid.

You took an extra three points off them.
They have games away to ourselves, Aresnal and Chelsea. one game against each side. 9 points less would leave them still 5 points ahead.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                  * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I think that if we can beat the Chavs and then Maureen's departure becomes confirmed then they'll drop points to make second place ours (What a sad day! As I wrote that with such that with hope, dreams of second place, what's the story with that?).
But if we haul in Chelsea and cut the gap to the Mancs (single figures say!) by the begining of March, that would be all set up nicely for the visit of "El Scum".
Now I'm drooling over the thoughts of emerging from nowhere to overhaul the Mancs and win 19. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 19!

                          14-1 cos i backed us
that was different as we could and did change the result
here we're relying on every team beating scum and then the teams like Chav's and arses also loose points and then we win every game.

1 point behind us, 8 and 14 points in front of us are the top teams in the PL all 3 arn't going to self destruct

I'm an optomist at heart but this is beyond me, 2nd isn't and would be a great result this year

Coming back in one game is a world away from reproducing the same inequality of two team's performances over half a season.

The biggest "ifs" for me are IF only we hadn't lost a couple of those soft games early in the season in games when we were the better side, then we'd be level with Chelsea and pushing the Mancs with a win on Saturday.

It's gone for this season. But I think we will finish closer to the top two than we are now...
