30 league appearances during his time at OT, 2 and a half years?

Tells its own story methinks, and even when fit Evra plays.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

        Fergie: Heinze here to stay
Sir Alex Ferguson claims Gabriel Heinze has a future at Manchester United and insists his contract won't expire this summer.

The Argentine defender has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and has interested the likes of Tottenham and AC Milan.

However, when asked if the player had a future at the club, Ferguson said: "Absolutely, of course."

There were reports that Heinze's current deal was due to run out this summer but the fiery Scot has revealed that his contract runs until 2009.

"One paper said his contract finishes in June. That's wrong, it ends in 2009," he declared.

"When I read that I immediately went diving for my file. I was sure that wasn't right. We don't allow these things to happen."

But Ferguson has revealed his frustration at being unable to sign any players this January.

"We're hitting a brick wall. I make the point every year, not a lot happens in January. It's usually very quiet.

"Ourselves, Chelsea, Arsenal are generally very quiet. Blackburn have done a bit of business, Portsmouth have done a bit of business. They have got two or three players in Portsmouth.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
