I´m sorry if I wasnt clear, but this tread is not really about Bale.Originally posted by Harveybirdman View Postthis threads a joke.
Sure Bale looks good.....but FFS 10-12mill on a 17 year old LB!!! your avin a larf...6mill is around the mark. We are i dire need of some attacking flair players.....why spent that sort of money on a defender? We have the best defence in the league FFS!
I love how people are righting off Insua, and he hasn't even played a game for us. There was talk that he would be playing in the first team by the end of the season...so he must have a bit to him. Boca Juniors are a massive club, and to be considered as their Lb at 17 is no small feat. He obviously has a fair bit to his game. Give the lad a chance.
It is about if you all think we will change our transfer policy if we get the investment.
Plus, Man U are not paying 12m upfront, and will only pay 12m if he is worth it.

Giggsy? Have a word with yourselfOriginally posted by Taffy View PostI don't understand people with Bale as from what I've seen of the player he seems like he's going to be from the very top drawer within the next 5 years - my only suggestion is that people haven't really seen the lad play.
Gareth Bale looks like he has it all. He has great balance, a great engine, good positioning from what I've seen of his defensive game and has that fantastic dead ball ability - that free kick he scored on his debut for Wales against Slovakia was just brilliant and he's also done the same on numerous occasions for his club this season (enough to win the games for them). He also looks comfortable on the ball and is great at linking play down the left flank offering an attacking option. All this at just 17 and I suggest he's going to be something special - shame he's looking to join the mancs and play week in, week out with his idol Giggsy.
He'll have no problems adapting to the EPL in my opinion as he has it all to be able to cope comfortably with the game at a higher level. In fact I'm looking forward to seeing him play at that level, it's just a shame that it looks like he'll be playing for THEM. I'm sure we've been keeping tabs on him but have we currently got that kind of money to splash out at present? But at the end of the day it'll only cost about 5-6m now for the lad with the rest depending on his success in the future over the length of his contract.

if we get investment im sure we will change our policy, theres no doubt we do miss out on some talent because we simply can't afford them. Aguero being the main one IMO. It would be nice to see us go for one of those Brazilian/Argentinian young guns. Rafa clearly follows the south american leagues, so i wouldn't be surprised to see a few more well known youngsters, if investment comes.Originally posted by einar View PostI´m sorry if I wasnt clear, but this tread is not really about Bale.

But generally we have been quite good in bringing in young players since Rafa has been in charge. The last few have been quite highly rated in their homeland."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

It is not 12m for an unproven player.Originally posted by enema of the state View Posti have been told bale is very high on rafas wanted list.
i guess if theres a £12m offer on the table hes going elsewhere and imo i dont want lfc spending that kind of cash on "potential".
rather see it used on established quality
They probably only pay 5-6 upfront and if they pay more it is because he´s proven himself to be worth more.
And I really hope we dont miss out on Walcott, Aguero, Bale, Vidic, etc. after
the investment.

There'll always be a supply of young talent every other year or so, but not being in there challenging for their signature is the most damaging part on our behalf, I just hope that we are in there from hereonin.Originally posted by einar View PostIt is not 12m for an unproven player.

apparently another club has made a bid for Bale....some linking us.
interesting. I have no doubt we would be interested in him, and he is certainly talented...but for that sort of money he better be farking quality!"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
