    Do we need Ayala?

I think not, was a great player but wouldn't get into the team at the moment unless we loan him as a fourth cb and let Paletta go on loan.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

No. Too old, it's like Pellegrino part two.

He's still got a few years in him.

Bringing him in will allow either Paletta to go on loan (he needs games to improve) or let Carra cover Finnan (in case of injury to the latter).

With all these young Argies signing up Ayala would be a great role model for them. With a possibility of a coaching role when he hang his boots up.

By this response, I'd say no.

This must be a smokescreen because I would be amazed if we signed him on loan.He is playing in the first team for valencia and they have no money so they couldnt replace him. Also there manager is under pressure and needs to pull something off in the champions league to keep his job so why would he just give away one of his first team players.

Despite his age, I'd still take him on loan for the remainder of the season.

He was a great player and although his best years are behind him he would provide good cover and hopefully help improve the younger lads in the squad.

I don't really see any harm in the deal if it was for six months.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

He would be have been a fantastic signing 3 or 4 years ago. Could still do a job for us, and I am sure he will be better than Pellegrino and Paletta.

Till the end of the season, but he would be a luxury to have not a necessity with Sami and Agger to play along side Carra

Yes, too old! He's probably got a few years left him - but only if he stays in a league he's used to. As the saying goes, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" - it would be very difficult for a centre back of his age to come to a new league and learn to play a new style of football as Pellegrino found out. Players hit a point where they can't learn anymore and thats when they start losing it and eventually retire. He's at that point now of losing it.

On a positive note for Pellegrino - I quite liked his hairstyle. These Argies tend to have good hairstyles.
