I have known Stephen since he managed my local club, Bohemians FC in Dublin. That man has the midas touch & expertise to get the best out of his players. I wouldn't surprised if we hear of Adam tearing up trees up north!

    Glad to hear that mate
Obviously , if you get the chance to pick up any info/gossip about how the lad is doing please pass it on

Hammill targets dream treble for Pars and Reds

        By Graeme Dey

ADAM HAMMILL yesterday revealed his treble dream—Liverpool lifting the Champions League and Dunfermline securing SPL survival and the Tennent’s Scottish Cup.

The 19-year-old Anfield winger, on loan to the Pars, watched his employers all but secure their place in the semi-final stages of Europe’s top club competition on Tuesday night with a 3-0 first-leg demolition of PSV Eindhoven.

Now, over the next week or so, he hopes to help the Pars close on their twin targets as they face Hibs in the league and then the last four of the cup.

“I’m a mad Reds fan and tuned in to see them against PSV,’’ said Hammill, “I’m delighted for them and hopefully this can be the start of things.

“If Liverpool can win the Champions League, Dunfermline win the Scottish Cup and stay up then that would be the stuff dreams are made of.

“It’s not beyond us to do that. It’s not really in touching distance yet but we can almost grab it if we push ourselves on in the next few weeks and Liverpool keep going.

“If we can get three points on Saturday we are always putting pressure on St Mirren. We then still have to play them and after the split we are capable of beating any team on any given day.

“We’ve got a good chance of staying up and we all believe that.

“I will be going back to Liverpool in the summer but the priority for me before then is getting to a Cup Final and keeping the club in the SPL.

“No matter what, I will always be grateful for my time spent at East End Park but I want to leave here on a high and keeping the club in the SPL would do that for me.’’

Hammill feels he has benefited tremendously from the experience he’s picked up in Scotland.

“A young player going out on loan just hopes for first team football. But I have come here, played to a high standard and really enjoyed things.

“It has made me a better player. I now appreciate just how important winning is, and I’ve become a better all-round team player.

“I’ve learned to defend and I can now keep going when other teams are throwing everything at you. I’m a lot stronger mentally than I ever was before.

“Playing for points, and livelihoods has helped to strengthen my character. I’ve opened my eyes up to how tough football really is.

“Liverpool have been up to watch me a few times since I came here and have also spoken to Stephen Kenny about me, so I feel they are taking a real interest which is encouraging.

“My main aim next year is to get one foot into the Liverpool first team. If I can get myself on the bench and establish myself in the way I have done here at Dunfermline then that would be great.

“But for now I am concentrating on keeping Dunfermline in the SPL and helping them reach the Scottish Cup Final.’’

          well in Adam.

He sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, hope he can break into the squad for next season.

would love to see that, Id get more joy out of watching a product of our youth system coming through and playing well in the first team than watching a new signing.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
