Crouch leaving? and a liitle on j.p

why would anyone want the lanky one to leave, okay maybe hes not the best header/finisher in the world but he offers us loads more and alot of teams are afraid of him and while im on people giving players jipp I think i'll put a little word on jermaine, he's young and he was a an lfc fan when he was a kid so it most of been a bit daunting, I think if I got the chance to play for the best team and supporters in the world I would try my hardest but I also know I would be ****ting a brick so first I wouldnt be doing anything out of the ordinary and doing the basics so i could get a bit of confidence in my own ability which is why I think Jermaine has/is doing especially from signing from a team what got relegated so his confidence must of got a bit battered, so I think big crouchy has alot to offer and Jermaine man(skys quality ) has alot more to come and for me I think todays match shows we are going in the right direction, quality times to come

Good points, especially about the confidence.

Crouch is irreplaceable - FACT. He MUST stay.

        agree about crouch

great goal by pennant but even with it his all round play was not good enough. youre right that hes young but for me he needs to make a rapid and dramatic improvement or hell get replaced.

No way should be even dare think about selling Crouch, he's a massive(pun not intentional) player for us, one we'd only appreciate if we were to sell.

But he's the best we could get with what we had, who is available that we can get that will improve us over Pennant? Not forgetting that background checks are carried to see if he will "fit in" with the rest of our team.

I'm all for improving the squad, but they have to be right for the team at the right price, Pennant fitted the bill during last summer.

dont disagree - but i think theres a strong chance someone wholl fit the bill better might be on offer in the summer

I wonder how Benitez would respond to a 12 or 13 million quid bid from Newcastle, though.

Crouch is prone to missing a good chance now and again, but honestly what striker isn't ? I felt he should have scored today, but as long as he plays like he's been playing recently he'll do for me.

No he isn't. He's at best a good option in the squad. Next season it should be Kuyt + goalscorer as our main strikers and Bellamy and Crouch as our other strikers.

Irreplaceable? No way! 12-13m from Newcastle and i'd sell in an instant.

who would you buy instead that would offer "something different" that would be up to your incredibly high standards... by that i mean combining the work ethic with goals and an awful lot of assists..

considering that swp cost 20m, i don't think what we paid for pennant looks so bad on his recent form. could we do better on our right hand side if DIC stumped up some cash? on paper yes, but the next few months will be interesting for pennant

crouchy is another interesting one. he is probably just a bit off the required standard to start more games but does offer a great option in th squad. would he be happy with that long term? publicly he says yes so thats good enough.

if a club offered 12m for him the temptation eould be there, but while DIC won't be roman like in their spending, i don't think that a 5m profit on a very valuable squad player is good enough

been lurking a bit. the knives have been out a bit too quickly for my liking recently so taking a back seat from the nonsense.

rafa knows what he's doing and i think we have got a very interesting couple of months ahead (on and off the pitch)

Crouchie is execellent with foot, but obviously his heading ablility ain't good enough. Considering he makes those bicycle-kicks there's nothing wrong with his eye to ball co-ordination. His birthday is just around the corner so maybe a little hint what to buy him?

I would sell Crouch, for anything more than 8 mill.
He has too many flaws to be a regular starter, misses too many chances and just keeping him on the bench as an option is tempting, but not 8-10 mill tempting.

Pennant I would give one more year, if then still not producing regularly or progressing well, sell.
