"he is a good finisher" - the facts say he isn't

he has pace- yes he does (good quailty but not enough on its own)

he has skill - does he? If he can beat a man so easily why does he get caught offside so often?

he has desire, he has passion - so do a lot of players - (e.g. Cisse - look where he is?) Not enough to succeed as a TOP goalscorer.

Shortcomings: not a top goalscorer, history of being a trouble-maker , dodgy knees, constant whingeing at the linesmen

As for when I started wtaching Liverpool..well let me just say I've seen enough good Liverpool strikers to know the current bunch aren't good enough.

Oh and as for Newcastle challenging for the league title - I think you'll find that was under Kevin Keegan.
Ok you think Cisse is good enough? He whinged at his team and the lazy **** made not effort.

And the highlighted sentance makes no sense at all.

Ironic you should use another "moron" scapegoat in Garcia as your fourth choice striker as a lot of people say he "isnt good enough for LFC".
The arguement was about who we'd have signed as strikers given the budget - not wide players. For me Garcia is much more effective played as a split striker, than a wide player. The Crouch money has to be included in the arguement, becuase I wouldn't have signed him in the first place (hence that money would be available).

As for Pennant, I don't think he's good enough either, and if we were that short of cash , then as much as I hate it, I would have played SG on the right and given Anderson a run where possible, or even Zenden (who is not a CMer), until Kewell was fit, and Gonzalez found his feet

FFS swallow your ego's and realise we need better.
ineffective? mm tell that to the special one then. He said yesterday that their defence cannot cope with him.

          6ft 7 Is that a disability then?

Can't run? well he may not be the quickest but I think can't run is a bit of an overreaction

Heading - I totally agree he is crap

It seems that even when we play the champions off the park and win very comfortably some people are not happy unless they are complaining.

Even Mourihno admitted yesterday that there was no way they could deal with Crouch and Kuyt, other players yes but not those two.

That is why Crouch is a Liverpool player. It gives Rafa the option when needed.

There are plenty of fans who claim some players are not good enough to wear the shirt.

Well remember, we wear the shirt in the stands.

Look at yourself and ask are you good enough to wear the shirt as a fan?

ffs £10m Kuyt, £7m Crouch, £7m Bellamy gives you £24m not rocket science

You think Cisse and Morientes or Cisse and Baros was better?

Come on, Colon can't see the contribution Crouch made yesterday, how's he supposed to add up three numbers...?

The only ones who can get away without this are the very, very best: Dalglish, Van Basten, Bergkamp, Zola, Cantona etc. Which is why Bellamy's pace without a clinical finish is not good enough (something Cisse was criticised and shipped out for), and Crouch's ability without pace or finishing is not good enough. And Fowler's lack of pace and hold up play is woefully exposed at the top level now, even though givemn a chance he usually takes it, but the defenders are just too strong and quick for him now.
Yes of course. We had the quickest forward in our history and he was a huge success. Where is he now? Oh yes back in the French League

With what money we had on the table and on the books I would have done the following:

Bought RVN for £10m when available, or Owen for £16m
                              Bought Kuyt for £10m
                              Kept Cisse
                              Played Garcia as 4th striker
Added a cheaper younger striker to the books, or gone for a proven goalscorer such as Klose with a reasonable buy-out clause (which would be less than £12m)

that's reasonable. And far more consistent goals potential than we currently have in the squad.
thats a ****ing joke as are you, rvn?, kept cisse?go back to playing fm.

Look at the top four clubs and their strikers

                              Rooney ????
                              Saha 8 same as kuyt
                              Schevchenko ??????
                              Drogba 14
                              Henry 8 same as kuyt
                              Van Persie 10

Crouch?????? he scored his first goal bout this time last yr,against wigan in dec i think
since then, bout 1 year he has scored 25 for liverpool in 79 games.

Watch the match back all you idiots who are telling me to, watch the half arsed header that lead to the first goal your complaining about a header that led to a goal for us? good ****., watch the tame header at the keeper, watch long balls being pumped forward and him having no pace to run onto them, at least if we are going to play long ball lets have a striker who can use his head and pace.
