I don't think we'll delay the takeover for much longer as it's definitely not in our advantage to do so. Rick Parry stated last week that talks with DIC were at the closing stages, so I doubt they would let Gillett come with a counter bid now.
It's not a question of money, but more to do with the package DIC is proposing to develop the club further. So it's a no brainer in my opinion. Gillett has been dismissed beforehand, so I doubt that offering more money per shares can change something now, so far down the line. Pure speculation and bad journalism.
In which paper does these articles come from ?

American bid for Reds

The Guardian
The proposed takeover of Liverpool by Dubai International Capital is likely to be delayed well into next month after it emerged that another of the club's long-standing suitors, the American businessman George Gillett Jnr, is ready to submit a bid to take control at Anfield.
Gillett, who owns the Montreal ice hockey team and was formerly in charge of the Harlem Globetrotters, intends to offer shareholders about £5,000 per share and values the club at about £170m. DIC's valuation is nearer to £155m.

I think that it already has been. Money obviously plays a large part in the bid but so does the direction the new owners plan to take the club in. This is where DIC trump Gillett by the sound of things. It sounds like he wont value the traditions of the club in the same way that DIC will.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Simple answer.... Gillett is offering more money to Moores... It now depends whether Moores wants to be greedy & accept the highest offer or do the right thing & accept the deal that is best for the club...Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostGillett my arse. We're so far down the road with DIC, and both parties are (I assume) desperate for the deal to go through...so why the **** would we go back to square one with Gillett and his crew?
