Ugo Ehiogu about to sign for Rangers

I am aware that in itself this would be the wrong forum to discuss this, however reading the BBC report it goes on to state that he has played for Leeds and Boro all ready this season.

How is this different to the JM situation?

I think the rule only works for non EU players.

is it to do with contracted clubs?

If Liverpool were to sign JM, he would have been contracted 3 times in year.

          Is that right?

          Is it tea time

That's why we should loan him until the summer.

He joined Championship strugglers Leeds United on loan at the end of November and featured six times for Dennis Wise's outfit, scoring once.

His loan ended on 1 January and he has since played for Boro in the FA Cup.

Here is the rule in question, as it appears on the FIFA website.
There is no mention of an international transfer, nor of loan periods or contracts.
Basically 3 clubs held Ehiogu's registration in the time period stipulated.
Thus, if FIFA allow him to play for Rangers, they should allow Mascherano to play for us. Other examples include Sorin and Jon Stead.
I have a nasty feeling that FIFA are going to **** us over on this though.

What's to say that we're still in for Mascherano? It seems to have gone pretty quiet on that front. I have a feeling that with Momo and Kewell close to returns to fitness we might not sign anyone during this transfer window.

West Ham might not even sell him to us.
