    I don't want 5 or 6 new signings in January...

    ...just one would be nice.

    The thing is, we have seen it time and time again at other clubs and also with ours. A big influx of players always rocks the boat and its immediate effect can be very unsettling.

    We have hit a rich vein of form in the Premiership and we are doing fine in Europe, so let's concentrate on winning matches and accumulating players to fit in with Rafas long term vision for the club.

    Arsenal haven't bought, Manure may only purchase one. Let Charlton and West Ham panic buy and see what happens.

    Lucas Neill? Would have been fine but never mind.
    Gareth Bale? Yes please, but probably go to Spurs or Mancs.
    Mascherano? Would be nice but who will be dropped? Momo is coming back too...is he needed? Back-up more likely.

    Perhaps we need another striker...Villa in the summer!

    I agree with you mate. I said this million times before and I'll say it again. I want 1 world class signing or 1 or 2 back-ups more than 5 or 6 for the future...

    And now I might sound a bit dull and off-topic but I believe we made a big mistake when we sold Hamann to Man City. Really! When Momo got injured, just imagine how good we would be with Hamann being a defensive mid! I personally believe that if we had Didi, we would have more points in Premiership at the moment.

        We will sign Mascherano if FIFA allows him to play for us.
        Just believe and you never know what will happen.

        According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

          the case can also be made that if we bring them in now, we will hit the ground running next season, because the new players would have already settled. It seems to be our biggest problem, and i think buying in January would fix it.

              I think that Rafa will focus on signing three players in the summer.

              Alves
              A striker - Villa?
              A backup right back who also can play as a central defender.

              We really don't need to sign more than that if Mascherano signs up this month.
              Just believe and you never know what will happen.

              According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                  we need "starters" - in the american sense of the word - at L midfield and R midfield more than any of those 3 - unless youre proposing alves for RM rather than RB.

                  i Forsee new faces in the RB/CB/LM/RM and striker - so 5 new faces at least.

                  not all need to be "starters" but id put RM>LM>RB>striker>CB as the priority order

                            Sometimes a player is good enough even if he is just 16, 17 or 18 years old. Look at Richards for example.
