Is he good enough for the first team squad? He will be back up for Riise and Aurelio. We have sold Warnock who was a decent squad player but Rafa obviously feel that Insua is better than him, I think Rafa might think he is. I mean Aurelio has got a big chance of getting injured again and we have no cover for left back. I admit I have never seen him play, anyone on these forums who said they have is a fibber. He has never played a first team game for Boca and hasn't played in the South American U20's so far, I am looking forward to seeing what type of player he is when we watch the highlights for the Reserves.

Does Rafa think that Insua is good enough?
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

I haven't seen him play, but from what I've read (admittedly, on forums such as these) Rafa seems to really rate him. If hes got potential, then hes come to us at the right stage. In by that I mean he can develop here, and learn and adapt to the English game and the Liverpool style of play, not to mention being under the guidance of Rafa and our players. He's got 2 players ahead of him in Riise and Aurelio who can do the job while hes still developing, and I'm sure if Insua is good enough, he'll slowly be eased into the squad like Agger was. But since hes very young, I'd expect it will be maybe a while before we see that occur

If he wasn't sure he was good enough, do you think Rafa would have considered him ? As for the deal itself, I think it's a loan deal isn't it ? If that's the case, I can't see it being a risk really.

I think that he will play in the league before the end of this season. He doesn't exactly have good competition on the left.Originally posted by SouthAfricaRed View PostHe was 18yrs old on the 7th of January. It will be a while before we seem in the First TeamJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think too much attention has been paid to a throw away line by Bascombe in the Echo which said that "Liverpool staff" felt that Insua could even be good enough to challenge for a squad place before the end of the season.
This has morphed in the interweb's usual style to 'Rafa really rates him and wants him to be our No1 left back by the end of the season'.
At the end of the day he's a very young lad who will have to learn the language , adapt to a totally new lifestyle and learn a totally different style of play. The fact that we have loaned him for 18 months proves 2 things - We rate him highly for the future but we also acknowledge that not everybody adapts to such massive changes and we want to see how he gets on first"Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest."

I suspect he will come in and get a role not disimilar to Barragan. Train with the big boys, get chances in CL qualification and maybe the cups for at least a year before he has any chance of first team football."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Apart from hugely experienced Riise and Aurelio, no, no real quality competition to contend with.Originally posted by AFII View PostI think that he will play in the league before the end of this season. He doesn't exactly have good competition on the left.
You come out with some odd comments.

To be fair they are often pretty much the same: We have bought a 12 year old from abroad. They will be in the first team by the end of the seasonOriginally posted by keniget View PostApart from hugely experienced Riise and Aurelio, no, no real quality competition to contend with.
