Martins close control is similar to Cisse, in fact he's pretty similar in most respects.

Well said
I think he could be the type of player Rafa may take on until the end of the season. He knows him well and I am sure Liverpool would be suited to his style of play.....

He just reminds me of Morientes - obviously talented but ill suited to the PL for whatever reason.Originally posted by dirty_sanchez View PostI don't get why people slag Luque. fair point by you Dave and also Shaggy. When Martins is good he is top notch, but I dont think he is capable of hitting and maintaining that sort of form.Originally posted by dww View PostI just think he is a real goal threat. In the whole games (i.e. not highlights) I have seen he has had the opposition defence on their toes all the time. He isn't consistant when he gets the ball, a bit like a cross between Emile Heskey and Andy Cole, but better than that sounds

So a bit like Ronaldinho positionally then. Really I see him as a Luis Garcia type.Originally posted by Cacodemon View PostWhat is he though? He's not a Left Midfielder; not really a striker, he's like an old fashioned inside left, but who plays with one of them!Such an ugly face, such an ugly mouth.

I would say he is an attacking player who can be on the left, upfront or in the hole. Even more like Reyes as well.Originally posted by dirty_sanchez View PostSo a bit like Ronaldinho positionally then. Really I see him as a Luis Garcia type.
I just dont thunk he is suited to our league, despite his injuries he just doesnt look like one who will have the time and space to pull out the trick. At least Reyes and Garcia showed they can adapt better to the EPL, despite their problems.

Reyes had pace and a quick turn of feet on his side, and Lil Luis has a low centre of gravity and quick control, both giving them that extra split second which is often required in England, I haven't seen anything from Luque that can suggest he can find the space to do damage to teams.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

He always looked dangerous at Depor. am sure if he was in Spain he'd look like a decent player.

If we can't get a team full of Scousers let's get a team full of Basques...*Originally posted by looprevil View PostYes, I know he has been ****e at the barcodes, but the fact is he was a class act at Deportivo - could be available cheap.
Is he just not good enough for the EPL or has he just been in a ****e team at the barcodes? Attacking LEFT sided player - sounds like the type of player we could do with right now - but could Rafa get his form back??
