    Interesting Stat

    I took this from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafa_Benitez

    Rafa has almost now managed Liverpool for the same number of matches he managed Valencia. He has a greater win percentage at Liverpool by 3%, which is quite a big difference and can can make the difference in winning the premiership. Yet he won 2 league titles. Just shows the standards to win the premiership are a lot higher.

    Valencia
    Games played = 163
    Won = 87
    Lost = 33
    Drawn = 43
    Win % = 53.37%

    Liverpool
    Games played = 153
    Won = 87
    Lost = 37
    Drawn = 29
    Win % = 56.86%

    Anyone have any suggestions to what I can do on the weekend? I feel lost because of the fact Liverpool aint got a match...

    This could also mean that the standards of the whole league in spain are higher; the lower teams in the premiership are worse than the lower teams in spain.

          La Liga didn't have anyone like Roman owning one of the teams. Real had much money but they couldn't sign player after player for £20m+.
          Just believe and you never know what will happen.

          According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

            Interesting spin on the stats, but you could also look at it this way:-

            Valencia
            Games played = 163
            Won = 87
            Lost = 33
            Drawn = 43
            Loss % = 20.24%

            Liverpool
            Games played = 153
            Won = 87
            Lost = 37
            Drawn = 29
            Loss % = 24.18%

              A lot of the games we've lost have been against the top teams and rivals for Europe as well, which as you know, are 6 pointers when it comes to bridging the gap.

                  Or another way

                  Valencia average 1.865 points per game or 70.87 points per season

                  Liverpool average 1.895 points per game or 72.01 points per season

                  That of course doesn't take into account the fact that we only managed 58 points in our first season under him.

                  Or that the stats include cup games.

                  So it's pointless, yet still, somehow, not

                    Barca and Real have more spending power than Chelsea. They can compete with them in terms of money and most the top players in the world would choose Barca, Real and even AC Milan (even though they're **** but they are filthy rich) over Chelsea.

                      It does include cup games - but I'm just saying its an interesting fact and I'm saying that Rafa has a tougher job here than he did in Spain because of the fact Chelsea and Man U****ed have an astronimically high win % over the last 2/3 seasons. And we have to maintain the same win % (which would be good enough to win La Liga) just to finish 3rd.

                        The only stat I care about is whether or not we finish 1st this season.

                        I'd even prefer to get mullered by Barca home and away, unceremoniously dumped out of the Cl, but then go on an unbeaten run until the end of the season and win the league.

                          Ur completely wrong on this: Where were you in 2004/2005? We got hammered by many teams below us including the likes of Crystal Palace and finished fifth. And this season, the premiership has been quite open and any team is capable of beating any team regardless of league position.

                            No offence but everyone supporting would accept that...
