    Praise for Astrit Ajdarevic.

    Taken from the official site:

Steve Heighway believes Liverpool could have a real prospect on their hands in 16-year-old Swede Astrit Ajdarevic.

The central midfielder was signed from Swedish side Falkenburg earlier this month and made his first appearance in a red shirt during the Youth Cup victory over Reading on Friday night.

Ajdarevic showed composure on the ball and a willingness to get stuck in after coming on at half-time.

“He’s got loads of talent but he’s come to us out of season and he’s only had a week’s training, so the best we could do was put him on the bench,” said Heighway.

“When he’s fit he looks a really good player. He gave us a little bit of composure. He has a lot to offer but he’s a month away from fitness.

“He’s settling in very well. We had him on trial before Christmas. We’re really pleased to have him and I think he’ll be a terrific player. I think he could be a real prospect.”

Yeah I saw the second half yesterday and he looked promising when he came on. Good eye for a pass, and sound technique.

He looked unbeliveably left-ffooted, even more so than Riise.
He also got the cramp after playing 45 min, but I guess that will improve when he gets some training.

On the positive side he had good placement, a very good left foot, had some nice passes\touches and wasn`t afraid to set his mark on the game.

A few things to improve, but he looks a real prospect, perhaps the biggest in yesterdays team.

He has only been training for a week so guess that might explain him getting cramp and the nerves of is first game..

This only been training with the club for week. I doubt he spent his time on the couch before he arrived. Having said that I don`t think the cramp means anything at all.

Astrit reminded me of Didi Hamann. It was really like having Hamann in the game. He's not the fastest on the pitch but he's got an eye for a pass, he calmed the team down after Reading attacked, he's strong and smart.

            I believe we've got a brilliant player!

If he turns out to be as good as Didi, we will have a great player on our hands.

and a very expensive one. He can cost up to £7m.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

7m Euro's wasn't it? He might never even make the first team yet. That'll be based on him making so many appearances.

Put it this way, it takes a pretty good central midfielder to make our team, so if he was that good then I don't think that price would be too bad, it's nothing to worry about if he does make it.

so he played 45 mins in a youth cup game and already he's a great player?

                    come on, have a word.

give it some time first before saying things like that.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated striker Astrit Ajdarevic as manager Rafael Benitez steps up the search for young talent to bring to Anfield

An initial fee of between £1m and £2.5m is being talked about for the 16-year-old, with more to come based on appearances and goals in the future.

"It's the biggest deal I have ever made," Lars-Eric Nilsson, chairman of Ajdarevic's club Falkenburg told Hallands Nyheter.

"It's rare for a player of his age, it's impressive.

"We went back and forth for a while but I liked doing business with Liverpool and I had a feeling we could make a good deal in the end."

Liverpool have sealed a deal to bring 16-year-old Swedish striker Astrit Ajdarevic to Anfield.

The highly-rated youngster, who represented Sweden at the European under-17 Championships, recently completed a trial period at Liverpool, and the North-West club have now agreed to pay his club Falkenburg an initial transfer fee of between £1 and 2.5 million.

"It's the biggest deal I have ever made," Falkenburg chairman Lars-Eric Nilsson told Hallands Nyheter.

"It's rare for a player of his age, it's impressive. We went back and forth for a while but I liked doing business with Liverpool and I had a feeling we could make a good deal in the end.

A large part of the deal is dependent on Ajdarevic's future performances for the club, with the fee said to rise to a maximum of 10 million euros.

Meanwhile, the Reds have confirmed the signing of Argentinian left back Emiliano Insua on an 18-month loan deal from Boca Juniors.

"He is a good, young player with a lot of potential," said manager Rafael Benitez.

News of the two signings comes just a day after Benitez had complained of under-investment in talented young players at the club.

Liverpool will pay an initial £1 million for Astrit Ajdarevic with the fee potentially increasing if the player makes the grade at Anfield.

16 year old Swede Ajdarevic, who currently plays his football with Falkenburg spent some time on trial at Liverpool last month.

During that time the player suitably convinced manager Rafa Benitez to invest in his services and a deal should be completed in the next few days.
