How sad will it be if/when...

I hope I never see the day that fans say the same sad things about Carra and Stevie. Not care that they go? Shrug it off? Doesn't matter if it's time for them to retire, change job inside the club, whatever. But to be dismissive is just beyond insulting for anyone that has so much love and passion for the team and the game.

I think people are just expressing themselves poorly. When he does finally retire, we will still always have the enduring memories of the legend that he is. What I think people are trying to express is that they feel in some way, that is all we have now anyway.Originally posted by PeachSalsa View PostI hope I never see the day that fans say the same sad things about Carra and Stevie. To some people I think it feels like it will be an anti-climax in a way because we have seen him leave before, it was brilliant when he came back to us and he's made important contributions, but in a way we have already seen the gradual passing of the player Robbie Fowler we know and love.
But I don't see anyone feeling like that when the time comes. I think when he leaves the pitch for the last time it will be an incredibly emotional moment. Although we know he's not what he once was, every time he takes to the pitch we all dream he will show us more than just glimpses of the magic he lit up Anfield with on so many occassions. The end of that dream for once and for all, and as the memories flood back, the realisation that Robbie's phenomenal contribution as a player is at an end, will bring tears to the eyes of any and every red.Like blood on iron

Just imagine how good he would have been if he had given 100% in the trainings.
The only way I can see him get a game now is if we don't have anything left to play for in the league. He may already have played his last game from the start for us
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Thank God (Fowler) that you typed all of that. My reply:Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostI think people are just expressing themselves poorly. the day he plays his last game for us i will be gutted, as i was growing up i completley worshipped him! he is not the same player as back then and injuries probably stopped him from being better. but if we had the robbie of old playing up front now we would be top of the league in the big games he scored and we are crying out for some like that now. i will always choose to remember him in his pomp and i will still be wearing my fowler no.9 jersey as i think he is definitley the legend of the younger generation of lfc fans.I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

I totally agree that when he was, when he was at his best, a fantastic player and because of that (coupled with some amusing off/on field antics) he is a 'LEGEND of LFC'
My point is simply the same as the one you are making - he is not the same Robbie from years ago.
And no, I would not have diouf at the club in place of Robbie - I have never made that point. I see no point in replacing any player unless the person you replace them with is better.
As you said yourself Robbie is not same player as he was, therefore, surely it is not impossible to accept that there are players out there who are better and therefore would improve our squad if they took his place.......that is just logic.
Too many would pick the team with their heart and not their head......thank God (no pun intended) Rafa is not one of them.

he was well off the boil before that injury.Originally posted by REDSCOUSER View PostDamn that Knee injury he had against the Blue****e.
He was never the same after that.
Robbie will always be GOD, inspite of everything.
the kop etc were starting to show sign's off a falling out.
Sad day - no it would of been sad if he hadn't of played for us.
maybe the sad day comment for a player that's not been at his best for 10 years shows how little the younger fans have had to cheer forIts times like these we learn to live again FF
