well we`ll just have to disagree then. You and perky think makelele is better than alonso and I dont. I happen to think alonso brings far more to the defensive midfield role than makelele. BUT if i just wanted a runner and tackler, I would choose momo ahead of makelele too, as he runs more and tackles more.

I agree with you as to Alonso's qualities, but would Mourinho drop one of his midfield quartet of Lmapard, Makelele, Essien or Ballack to accomodate him? No.

I think Mourinho would take Alonso as, say, a long-term replacement for Makelele without a second's thought.
