I wouldn't take Makelele tbh. The trio of Alonso, Gerrard and Sissoko is as good as any central midfield in the world.

Terry over Hyypia and Sheva, Drogba and Robben would make it in.

However we'll have to see how valuable Pennant and Gonzalez prove to be for our side. Come May lets hope that we'll be saying that we'd rather them.

And i'd take Reina over Cech.

More physical, more commanding and an excellent sweeper which is what we need.

Id agree with that, but have to say, i like momo's work rate, If Essien could have a similar type of work rate as momo, it would be an easy decision, as Essien has alot more tallent. It's a pity, or maybe its not really a pity, that Jose doesnt know how to use his tallents properly.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

            * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Well why didnt YOUR thread say ....if you were to combine both teams what would be the strongest team??

MY thread is from the point of an LFC supporter and taking into account the realative merits of Sami/JC playing togethor allready etc.

sorry you feel you had to write that, just make your threads clearer in future ....hope i havent spoilt your day by starting this thread

What are you talking about, Essien made a fantastic impact......

                      With Didi's knee, amongst others.
Really not much difference between Momo and Essien for me, but then if you factor in age (as in ability to develop further) and value for Money I think we know the answer to that one.

Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Gallas, SWP, Makelele, Lampard, Ballack, Robben, Joe Cole, Drogba.

                        That's 11!

                        And maybe Essien

I think the hidden factor here is that some people play better in combination. For example I think the Carra - Hyypia partnership is exceptional but I don't think it has the pace to be played without a keeper used to sweeping up behind. I would say a similar thing about the Carra - Terry partnership actually, which I think would be the most talented pairing. So in those cases I would pick Reina, but although a close call in terms of raw talent I would say Cech just edges it.

I would take all of Chelseas attacking players.

                            433:
                            --Cole Drogba Robben
                            Lampard Makelele Gerrard

                            --------Reina

*Maybe Makelele for Alonso in the 442

Also, if Cole signs for Chelsea then he beats Riise to every line-up.
