Eventually yes. But also to raise the profile of the Arab nation.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Sorry bazza, I don't buy that last bit. It's all about money.

Didn`t sound like the FA thought they were done and dusted earlier today, but they probably are now.
A statement still won`t change anything.

LFC's statement also says a decision will be made in the next few days so we'll know exaclty what the board are up to before long. Anyway I can't be arsed with this any more,I'm off to do the wife!

Its obviously almost impossible for us to judge which of the 2 bids was the best for LFC.

If DIC was the better bid for the club & the board has tried to use Gillets interest to get DIC to increase their offer, then is a **** up of massive proportions.

If however, Gillets new bid is the better bid for LFC then everything in the garden is rosy. DIC have pulled the plug as a face saver before the club announced Gillet as its preferred bidder.

However, it all leaves a rather sour taste in the mouth. For so long DIC seemed the preferred bidder. Unless Gillet has come in with a better offer, it really is a **** up, big time.

Many of the reasons for fans prefering DIC are illogical. Gillet is seen as a Glazier clone, a money obsessed yank who will bleed the club dry. DIC on the other hand are seen as Arab gentlemen, LFC supporters at heart with LFC best interests paramount in their thoughts.

The truth is there is probably little to choose morally between the bidders. DIC would have been be every bit as ruthless as Gillet will be.

My only wish is that we are going with gillet as his offer was the best for LFC, rather than because we've ballsed up the DIC deal & are left with Hobsons choice. Truth is we will probably never know.

But he has shares he can refuse to sell.
I don`t know if he has anything to do with it, but he don`t have to be in the board to "cause trouble".

I feel sorry for Parry, his job is to find investors, which he has done consistently, but all decisions rest with the shareholders, and I feel they are putting their interests before LFC

Obviously first option, but releasing statements to appease fans is not highest priority if we can take it for granted their working their socks off trying to sort out the investment scenario.

Both the background work on investment and background work on signings ARE MORE IMPORTANT than releasing statments to the public.

We as fans just have to wait, simple as that.

Or he remembers the Premier League press release a couple of weeks ago announcing the huge increase in TV rights and decided that made the club worth more than it was when DIC first made their bid a month ago?

DIC did a good job of winning over the fans by convincing us it wasn't just a money decision for them.

Besides Rick Parry and the Board explaining why DIC suddenly isn't the best thing since sliced bread I wonder whether Gillet is going to make any efffort to reassure his future customers?

                            Comment

Maybe DIC have been told by Parry and mores to pull out to give the rest of the shareholders a kick up the backside, and they will come back in when the bioard wise up.

I suppose with Parry and Moores been told they can stay on with DIC then the rest of the board knowing they are out on their ar** will do everything they can to get the most out of it possible.

Steve Morgan is not going to give in easy and let Moores get what he wants.

Does anyone know how many shareholders there are?

We ca nthen work out the total difference in monmey which will be paid by Gillet. Then maybe Moores could swallow this debt himself or maybe DIC will up the offer.

I would have thought DIC will be gutted its not going through and also Parry and moores, so maybe now they can thrash it out between them.

At the end of the day we have no idea of the pro's and con's of the deals but i am just praying that something works out.

Didnt RAfa say he wanted DIC as he knew what they were going to offer him? Where will his thoughts be now?

There must be something stipid as Parry wouldnt have been on about it going through for so long and also for DIC men t obe on About it also.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting.

                              Good Night

1 question (which SouthAfricaRed touched on), if DIC were SO committed, why did they pull out at the sniff of a higher offer from another investor?

Surely if they had enough commitment to spend months feeding the PR machine and at the same time scrutinising the books with a team of financial experts, they wouldn't be blown off course by some cheeky American at the back of the room, tipping a wink to the guy with the hammer?
