But all this investment **** does my head in at the best of times
    I know I shouldn't jump to conclusions.

But after Parry was openly proclaiming what a great deal this was for the club, a deal that would in fact, 'take us to the next level'...

He had better have a ****ing good excuse for the DIC group making such a dramatic U-turn.

If this Gillette lad takes over and creates a bit of a mess, Parry and Moores will have their reputations tarnished forever.

I think it's the fact that several newspaper reports are implying the board has ****ed it all up rather than just the DIC statement

**** knows, I'm off to bed

Moores and the other shareholders are the sole winner in this debacle, they will be 500 a share richer each.

That's the thing, nothing seems to fit as neatly as the idea that they have just ****ed it all up. But who knows. Fecked if I'm gonna keep mulling over the nightmare scenarios in my head. I'm just gonna watch the West Ham match, get some kip, then wake up thinking of the derby and nothing else LFC related. Well, gonna try to anyway!

Did we ever have a firm offer on the table from DIC, or did Moores just accept a deal "in principle" from DIC? IF that's the case and no Terms Sheet was forthcoming from DIC, it's then good business practice to assess the offer that lands on the table (i.e. from Gillett). It's then reasonable to ask DIC to be forthcoming with a formal offer, without declaring what's on the table.

If DIC aren't willing to enter into that formality tehn LFC are left with no choice.

Personally, I'd prefer it if DIC took over from what little I know of what's on offer, but we can only deal with the formal offers as they come in.
            From what I understand...

It was accepted by Moores 'in principle', one newspaper is now claiming there was set to be a joint statement made about the offer being accepted early next week. Then the board decided to consider the other bid.

Gonna merge this one Colin cos otherwise we'll end up with loads of different DIC threads.

This seems to have backfired on them now and if DIC are deffo out and Gillett has matched their offer (i.e. He'll payroll the stadium and put up dosh for future transfers) plus more for the shares (as has been reported) then The Club will now have to do a PR exercise to endear Gillett to us as the possible new owner of the club.

Personally I was all for the DIC takeover because I'd read/heard that Gillett has been Bankrupt before which worried me but that's only because we've heard/been fed nothing but good things about DIC and nothing but negative things about Gillett IMO.

Who knows? maybe Gillett turns out to be a brilliant new owner and takes us to the next level or maybe DIC will come back with a better offer and take us forward.

Bottom line is that NONE of us really know WTF is going on behind closed doors and NONE of us can see into the future so just CHILL THE **** OUT and let's see what develops

Jesus, there's some ****ing awful stuff related to Gillette kicking about.

His history sounds scattered and erratic at best.

Who cares - it's only his future we should be worried about.

And pretty much any good businessman has been knocked down at some point and had to climb back up...

If it's not too much to ask, I'd prefer Liverpool football club to be run by a man that hadn't been made bankrupt by a risky gamble with share prices.

There's a Canadian lad on another forum basically saying the Hockey team Gillette took over haven't spent anywhere near enough money, the fans dont like him, and the team was far better off before Gillette got involved with them!

                            This is depressing.

                            I'm off.

Some of it is very worrying I have to admit but everyone has skeletons in the auld closet (even DIC I'm sure) but the thing is wheter we like it or not the final decision isn't up to us and we (the average joe) don't yet have the full facts, the board may not accept Gillett's bid, DIC might be playing business mind games, etc so as I said before IMO we should just chill and see what develops.
