They had a duty to consider other bids, and DIC gave them a ridiculous 12 hour deadline.

If people don't trust Parry, how come everyone is putting so much faith in what he said about DIC? That was the deal where he kept his job, so perhaps all that dewy-eyed stuff was just pap to keep us on board, and the dismissing of Gillett part of the same strategy? * Or did we choose to trust Parry on DIC because it was what we wanted to hear?

* I don't believe that, but it's entirely consistent with some of the dirt being thrown Parry's way. I'm actually in the 'We are all leaping to conclusions based on incomplete and inadequate information about the facts' camp.

DIC have a known track record of success. Parry saw what was obvious to all of us...DIC are winners and succeed at everything they do. So it wasn't a case of really trusting Parry on the merits of DIC's proposed bid.

I have thought about a few things today and:

1. None of us know at all anything that's gone on. We have only what Parry has to say to go on. Obviously there are the usual folk in the net who claim to know stuff but as usual I doubt they actually do.

2. There is definitely more to it than meets the eye but I can't be arsed with all the speculation.

3. I'm not keen on this Gillet fella as he seems to change his mind to suit whatever is happening and I;m not too sure that he has the sort of wealth we should be looking for.

4. I have this terrible terrible feeling that ****in Morgan has got something to do with it.

At the very least Parry's judgement must be questionable now. Either he was wrong about DIC being the right deal for us, or he was wrong about losing DIC as a potential investor.

A lot of unanswered questions there which Parry has conveniently forgotten to address, except to say we should trust him.

Not that much and I can't remember a single very good marketing deal.

He is a fan but the main objective for an owner should be to make the most money possible out of the brand that is Liverpool FC so the manager then gets more money to spend in the transfer market.

If he don't then the manager gets less money to spend and the club won't be able to compete in the transfer market and the brand becomes less valuable leading to smaller sponsorship deals.

We are a brand and will continue to be that.

If Gordon Gecko actually took over Liverpool, he'd called them the Liverpool Greenbacks, appoint Bud Fox to manager & buy the world's best players in a flurry of transfer activity.

On the field, we'd win the league, all of the available cups & within 2 years be the biggest brand in Global sport.

Off the field, he'd buy Man U, Chelsea & Arsenal and flatten their stadiums to to be replaced by Taco Bells and Ice Rinks.

Soon after, it would be uncovered that the deals were concluded in a vipers nest of debt ridden, bung driven activity. Authorities would circle, Est. servers would hit meltdown, while all along Dunk sit's blissfully unaware in a bin outside Melwood. As a parting present to Liverpool FC, Gecko would asset strip the whole place, leaving nothing but the corner flags flapping in the wind.

He'd be sent down for 15 years, reputation in ruins, shouting all the way from the dock.

People need to ask themselves if gillett offered to buy the shares @ £4k each back in october - what has changed in 3 months to make him increase the offer by 1k per share?

We all know Gillett is not a billionaire and is worth around $750m so therefore i think Morgan has joined forces with him in order to finance the deal.
