I know mate, I wish his family all the best. I've been to Malia and it's not a big town, basically a large village and not the place that someone could go unnoticed for a day.
My wife and I flew out for my wedding last year from Manchester Airport and saw all the photos and 'Missing' letters (a wedding I went to at Liverpool Uni a fornight ago had them too in the hall)...two weeks later when I returned I couldn't believe they were still there and he hadn't been found. We are coming up to our first wedding anniversary and he still hasn't been found.
Unfortunately it's difficult not to fear the worst. Best of luck to his family, YNWA
We need volunteers to collect cash INSIDE Anfield on Sat. 26th (West Ham).
Please be aware that you'll miss most of the first half (if not all of it) and you will have to be INSIDE the ground at around 1p.m. - so you won't be on the ale.
The club have kindly agreed to let us INSIDE the ground to ask for donations, on the afternoon of the first home game.
Through one individual's persistance and dogged determination to get things done, there was a meeting yesterday with Rick Parry and Ged Poynton.
The club are showing real support for Michael and his family, by allowing this to take place within the ground, so hats off to them.
We NEED at least 60 volunteers to make this happen. Hopefully, this will be run with near military style precision.
Please note though, don't put your name forward for this if you wanna see the game, 'cos you WON'T get a chance!
Anyone kind enough to help will have 2 buckets, will stay at their turnstile until 10/15 mins. after KO, then take the buckets to be counted, ready for the Securicor pick up.
Also can anyone help in obtaining authentic charity buckets?
We need at least 120, so any help would be much appreciated.
Please leave contact details if you're willing to help.
Could those of you who go on other LFC independant sites copy this post please.

Forgive me if I'm understanding this incorrectly but the game starts at 12.45 so if the volunteers aren't getting in the ground til 1 o clock , what's the point? Everyone will be sat in their seats.
surely theres a better picture of the poor bloke! He looks like a bloody psychotic serial killer in that photo.
dont they have any nice photo's of the poor lad? Every site uses the same psycho image.

It might also be an idea to have a whip round in order to raise money for the family of the innocent bulgarian waiter, who has suffered possible permanent brain damage as a result of the attack.

No ?
might be better not trying to cause arguments in this thread mate.
Isn't the 'fine' handed out to Michael Shields a direct payment to the poor waiter? If so we (as in a collective 'we' to those who have contributed) are paying the waiter, via the Shields family and the Bulgarian authorities.
I'd happily give the money to the waiter AND have the correct man behind bars. I'm weird like that...
the point is mate. NO-ONE other than michael shields can say 100% wether he done it or not. All the evidence suggests extremely strongly to me that he didnt. But the point you are missing is that he was never given a fair trial and that is what upsets people the most. What happened to michael was disgusting. NO-ONE is saying that what happened to the bulgarian waiter should have happened.
If michael is ever given a proper trial and IF he is proven innocent, then that waiter has a lot to answer for by pointing the finger at michael.
I think you are just trying to say something controversial to cause a unnecessary argument so you can get some attention.
If I am wrong I apologize, but i think it would be better if you just stick to what this thread is about.
Just saying that there's more than one young lad been effected by this incident, ofcourse, everyone hopes things work out for Shields, but the victim of this attack also shouldn't be forgotten.
