OK, smart arse, but not quite the sameOriginally posted by tomasjj View Postbuying flats?
they pit the bidders against each other.

Perhaps I should have rephrased it as 'On what planet are DIC if they think Liverpool should keep them updated on talks with other deals'Quote of the year :

Yes this is the point exactly. I'm afraid that as the days go by I am beginning to think we've had a lucky escape. Interfering in the business of a company you don't even own yet - what on earth would they do when they did own it? Would they interfere with team selection and player buying? It's worth thinking about. I mentioned early on various threads that they worried me and now this has confounded that.Originally posted by disco View PostOK, smart arse, but not quite the same

It sounds to me like DIC expected LFC to deal solely with them and the only conclusion from this is they wanted to get a lower price for the club. That's all my guesswork based on what is being played out in the press.
This is unrealistic let alone potentially illegal as I understand it. I think they're gutted they didn't get a bargain as someone else suggested.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

I just think thats its all just a game to everyone involved. All partied are in it for their best interests, whatever they may be. It wouldnt surprise me if this took another twist before it ended. They do business all the time and are used to everything which has happened.
Just whish it sorted itself out sooner rather than latter.
Mind you the S**t will hit the fan if we lose tomorrow.

they pit the bidders against each other.

I went to see a place, put in an offer, they call me back to say someone has gone higher.
I offer the asking price with first quarter paid up front, they call me back and tell someone else has offered above the asking price.
I tell them to wish the other bidder all the best in their new flat because I refuse to pay more than what was offered
I was annoyed, because my offer was good and it matched the asking price.
For the flat owner though, the higher bid means more money.
What wasn't taken into account though, was I was paying the first quarter upfront and was willing to commit for a longer term. So while things look good for the owner now, they may not seem too rosy six months or a year down the line

Dunk is saying in one of his exclusive that Moores will donate some of his own cash as leaving present. His source says soOriginally posted by desertscouser View PostAs Parry claims that Moores isn't in it for the money then it would be a nice gesture if he handed over the extra 8 million quid he gets from the Gilette bid to Rafa as a leaving present.
Wish he had a source for real

I've clearly not explained my point very well
I don't expect Liverpool to need to keep DIC constantly updated, and I don't see a major problem with Liverpool telling them that they've had a better offer

Am I really the only fool here that thinks this is all an elaborate strategy?
I have no inside info whatsoever but i sincerely believe that Parry and Dic are playing the press game.
1) They have a plublic falling out never having actually bid thus letting gillet in to the table as the sole option, where he is free to make any official offer.
2)Moores then rejects this offer excluding them from bidding again for 6 months.
3)Then a "change of heart" and last minute shuttle negotiations between Parry and DIC resolve the "dispute" between Moores and Dubai and a deal on favourable terms is reached.
4)Moores agrres to sell at £4000 accepting a lower price and is made life president for his generosity.
5)Parry keeps his job having played a blinder.
6)Old fart board members, greedy granada, and ambitious morgan are all stuffed and there's **** all they can do about it.Lucky owes Kopdan £10

It is a quite a leap tho isn't it?
How about what I said earlier, Moores and Parry are doing what's best for the club?
You are right that DIC never came up with an offer and neither has Gillet yet (or so I believe). So it's still in the same place it was a while back, we're talking to interested parties and talks have and are, advancing with some or all of them.
