Funny how Gilett is willing to pay £5000 per share though when the market value is £3000?
All that money going to Grenada, morgan and various other share holders that make up about 49% of the club.
Shame if someone were to buy the club at market value that money could be spent on the stadium and the team rather than line shareholders pockets.

If LFC haven't taken any advice on the cultural way of handling such business dealings , before they started this process, then they're even more naive than I think they are. Exclusivity periods are commonplace in business when trying to strike such a deal. It sounds to me like our board just haven't kept DIC in the loop, and that cultural affront has caused the withdrawal and the position we now find ourselves in. I find it VERY hard to believe our board aren't still in touch with DIC in some capacity right now. Not to be would be an even worse mistake - becuase if Gillett / Hicks walk away now, how would that look? Yes, we would look foolish if we eventually signed with DIC for 80-90% of what was previously on the table, but not as foolish as having no buyer at all, in the event that Gillett pulls out now. In fact, if he's such a canny businessman he might threaten to do just that, just to drive the price down.

They want in, there will be no better opportunity to acquire a top English side well known throughout the world, we are the crown jewels now, there is not a chance with the TV money on offer, Beckhamania about to hit stateside that they will let this opportunity slip through their hands.

It will all go through next week, and we will not look back, except wishing we didn't have to do it of course.

THOMAS "Tom" Hicks, 60, is a Dallas businessman and friend and ally of US president George W Bush.
Well that will go down well around here

An obvious choice with teh Emirates connection. Sad day for us if they do.

Perhaps DIC will sell Arsenal on in 7 years.

And perhaps they won't and will contine to cream off profits and pump in more money. Bankers are bankers - always chasing the next dollar.

If they buy Arsenal, they buy Arsenal. Cant do much about that. Perhaps if we had got DIC, Gillette would have bought Arsenal so it swings and roundabouts doesnt it.

We must ake sure we spend the money wisely. We've kept up with Chelsea this year so being rich aint everything.

True. But we ARE a business and therefore good business acumen and planning are essential. Hopefully these guys ahve got both.

Add to this the fact that they could lose out to an American bid (Not exactly the Arabs favourite race of people at this momet in time).......if LFC was such a good business project and they are such fans they will not walk away at the first hurdle. I think we are witnesssing a multi million pound game of brinkmanship. DIC generally get what they want so this will be no different!!
Somehow I doubt it - and my own suspicion with no more foundation than any other speculation on here - is that there was some truth in the leaked memo about a 7-year deal and walking away - or because of the way DIC were planning to fund the new Stadium. And this is why there was an opening for the US. I can't help thinking some phone calls took place which led to the Yanks coming back in. The idea that anyone in this saga is squeaky clean is naive.

Arsenal is valued at around £600m-£700m.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
