Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Agree Speedy, I think this is a non story by the DM (surprise).
If the Premier league gave the clubs clearance to field these players, then so long as West Ham/Pompey were honest when they submitted their applications, then the PL have ****ed up and not the clubs.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

Either way, if the PL and/or WHU have ****ed up, why are we being made to pay?

It says more about the incompetence of the Premier League than anything else.
If a club haven't provided them with all the necessary paperwork required for registration BEFORE transfer deadline then they should not be able to play until all issues are resolved.
Additionally when have the Daily Mail ever reported anything newsworthy."I'm going to sine your pitty on the runny kine!"

Quite honestly the whole saga of Tevez and The Masher stinks
It is ultimately a question of paperwork.
If there is some doubt over who owns the players registrations this issues should have been resolved BEFORE West Ham acquired the players and BEFORE the club were allowed to play them in the EPL.
I find it rather annoying that now Mascherano has moved again with special dispensation from FIFA the EPL have come out with the 'we just need to satisfy ourselves' attitude towards the saga.
Smacks of complete incompetance.
However, I do agree with you that there is a stink coming from somewhere.....that Joorabchian fella has a lot to answer for!"I'm going to sine your pitty on the runny kine!"

I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

2 days after the close of the transfer window and we're still waiting to see if we've signed him. There must be something quite dodgy with his representatives or something for the prem to hold the deal up this long. Hopefully all is sorted on Monday.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

I guess that Fifa waited until the last possible minute to sort the deal out so that they could be sure that they were making the right decision. I have no idea why the prem have decided to hold it up though, especially for this long. Initialy I thought that they'd be making an announcement on Thursday but to have dragged it on this long is just plain ridiculous. Can we sign him, yes or no? It's that simple.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Favouritism? FIFA bent their own rules to allow West Ham misfit Javier Mascherano to play for Liverpool.
The association's rules clearly state that a player cannot play for more than two clubs in the same season. Since July, the Argentinian midfielder has played for Corinthians, West Ham and he's now set to play for the Scousers as he got FIFA's licence to do so.
The strange thing is that Milan's Ricardo Oliveira would have been sent to Real on loan but the very same rules which were bent for Liverpool and Mascherano killed this move . Oliveira played for Sao Paulo and Milan and thus he wasn't allowed to join Real Madrid.
Sir Alex Ferguson did not wish to attack Liverpool or the FIFA for it but voiced his concerns.
'They got Mascherano and I don't know how they managed that. They got him on a sort of loan basis and I don't know how it's happened.
'The only thing I can think is that because Brazil's season is different from ours, it is because of that, which is strange.'
Strange, really. That's the best word. I wouldn't have written this article if FIFA had allowed Oliveira to join Real. But they rejected his request and that's strange.
http://www.manchesterunited.vitalfoo...le.asp?a=50191Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
