    Ronald Huth??

    Have we all missed this?
Anyone know anything about this new signing?

Liverpool have announced the signing of Paraguayan defender Ronald Huth.
The 17-year old has penned a two and a half year deal after agreeing to leave Tacuary FC in his homeland for a new career on Merseyside.

Despite being born in Paraguay, Huth holds an Italian passport.

He completed his move to Anfield ahead of Wednesday night's transfer deadline.

Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

lets face it - not every young player we sign will make the grade - the more the better IMO

To be fair that Swedish kid was said to be a striker when he signed and seems to have played in midfield for us, so I always read these reports about young players with an element of scepticism.

I would like to see a few of these young prospects loaned out to get some experience. I think Hobbs for example would benefit a lot from half a season of first team football even at league one level. We should really have an agreement with Crewe or Tranmere in my opinion to allow us to loan people out while keeping them close and possibly involved in some capacity at the club.

Huth has been training at Melwood for a couple of months now.
I mentioned a Paraguayan kid ages ago when talking about someone else arriving. This is he.

I though this for a while - living on the wirral Tranmere are basically my 2nd team - I reckon there should be a set up between us, Everton and Tranmere. Something like both us and Everton Loan tranmere two players for a season, they try and arrange/mix it up so the positions vary(be pretty **** if four goalkeepers were sent) Tranmere get the benefit of four fresh faces a season for free, and the chance that some of them may be quality, we get to watch the youngsters develop closely and see how they cope. At the end of the season all parties can assess the players.

I remember that, somehow I was expecting a flair player rather than a big defender me.

Looks like we`ve added another youngster as well:

Etter det liverpool.no forstår skal Liverpool også ha skrevet kontrakt med den 16-årige keeperen Dean Bouzanis. Australieren skal ha imponert etter en ukes prøvespill på akademiet.

16 years old goalie Dean Bouzanis from Australia.

It's getting brilliantly ridiculous. Can anyone pull a full list of transfers for Jan? I'm getting excited by the future as I think Rafa has accepted that this is the only way forward with our constraints. Rather than pay 1-2m more than we are prepared to pay for a top player, we spend more than most grabbing the cream of the youth market a la Wenger. The interesting thing here though is that ours seems completely global which I think is pretty awesome.
