Have you ever seen the Emirates on MOTD? It's always about 3000 short of capacity. No way do we need a bigger stadium than the one planned. It'd end up like the Emirates.

        60,000 is spot on IMO.

So what if the scum will end up with 75,000.

They can't even fill it during the group stages of the European Cup.

How many home games would we sell out in the league at a 75,000 capacity?, 8?, 10 max?

        Everton
        Scum
        Arsenal
        Chelsea
        Newcastle (probably)
        Spurs (maybe)
        After that I'm struggling.

It's pointless debating this one though because, as has been said many times, the local infrastructure would only support a 60,000 seater and that's what we've got planning permission for. To talk about anything more than that would need a whole new design in a different location and the whole planning process starting from scratch. In other words, it would add a further 5 - 7 years onto the completion date so we'd be looking at the 2014-2015 season if we're lucky...

Thing is, why not make it expandable for the future, who knows what the road system will look like in 10 years time. If this hicks bloke does the business with marketing, we could find ourselves in the same position we're in now, were we have the demand but not enough seats to capitalise on it.
