the view from the centenary stand.

Reina: 8. Solid, unruffled and good stop from the diving one.
Finnan: 6. Not up to his usuall standard.
Carra: 8. Kept AJ quiet and a tremendous tackle to stop a goal.
Agger: 6. Not his best - distribution poor.
JAR: 4. Shocking display. But he kept going and will come out of this poor spell.
Xabi: 4. Words fail me. Couldnt trap a bag of cement today.
Gerrard: 6. On the peripheral of the game. Again.
Pennant: 6. Good outlet but crosses too deep. Never really troubled Lescott.
Kuyt: 7. Proverbial work horse. Done a decent midfield stint today.
Crouch: 5. Did he win a header? Needs to work on his partnership with CB.
Bellamy: 5. probably still in Stubbs' pocket.

    Summary:
We played like a sunday league team: we got dragged down to their level. With the exception of Carra and Pep - nobody played near their level. We were nervous as hell and our first touch and control of the ball was shocklingly bad. Our passing was as poor as I've ever seen it. Basically - the occasion got to us - which disappoints me.

Aye, pretty much spot on Les, Xabi and JAR were a new level of terrible today... the later will probably be gone in the summer.

Harsh on Agger, and to a lesser extent Bellamy.

Agger was at least the equal of Carra today, his distro was certainly better, hence equal in terms of marks out of 10.

Can't argue with the rest, shocking for a home derby game.

I would have given Agger more than 6 IMO, he was one of the best out of a bad bunch today.

I'd agree with your point that we got dragged down to their level today though.

Seems I may have been unduly harsh on Agger.

I though Agger was our best player today!!!

Other than that I agree. Xabi was really poor, but Riise's display was pitiful.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

from anny road lower would agree most of that,
Agger's distribution was very poor at times, and Finnan had a poor game so 6 or 5 would be fair.

Xabi and Stevie we awefull today, Xabi in his passing and play and Stevie as don't remeber him playing.

Everton did have a couple of brizilians playing for them

I agree with you mate But I have to say I'd give Reina 20. He is one of the best goalkeepers at the momment! Without a shadow of a doubt!

I agree with all of the above apart from the Riise rating. I'd score him a 3 giving him the sole honour of being the worst player on the pitch, by a mile. And maybe a 6 was a little too generous for Stevie who was at his worst today. Never got into the game, made one tackle of note which was a foul and did nothing much going forward. And Xabi looked like a 1 million pound player rather than a 10 million pound player.

And Rafa also had a poor game today. Why did we keep persisting with the hopeful/hopeless long ball to our front players? It got us nowhere from the start.

Overall, a thoroughly crap LFC performance.

                      I'd give Kirsty Gallacher one.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

                        Reina 7
                        Finnan 6
                        Carra 7
                        Agger 6
                        Riise 4
                        Pennant 6
                        Xabi 5
                        Gerrard 6
                        Kuyt 5
                        Crouch 5
                        Bellamy 6

Not a good performance by the team, and Rafa could have done with some tactical changes.
Doesn't help to moan about defensive opponents, he must make some moves to break them down. He didn't imo.

Bit hard for him to run around at the moment though.

I don't care who or how we were playing today, a goal was going to happen from a bit of magic and today it didn't happen. The bluesh*te may as well have placed a table and chairs in the penalty box.

Thought Fowler should've been on earlier, just had a feeling he would do it.

Just to add my agreement to Les's analysis of today. Like others I'd rate Agger higher as, despite some Hyppia-like overhit passes, he was trying to bring the ball out of defence etc.

But Les has this otherwise bang on the nose.

Thought I'd dozed off and the blues had managed to sneak a few late goals though when the final whistle went and I saw them celebrating like they'd won the league.
