    no point blaming everton ffs.

Yep. We should beat them, we are better than them. For the first time in ages, I felt supremely confident we would hammer Everton. Knowing how poor they are and how good we can be at Anfield, I didnt see anyway they could come out of it looking good.

We shouldve beat them regardless of how they played, simple as that. The world and his wife knew what they would come and do, every team save about 3, come and do the same.

That is absolutely absurd. I mean really... I fully expect Rafa to deploy spoiling tactics at the Nou Camp... if we don't we'll get turned over. That's WHAT you do when you play away against better opposition when you want a result.

I don't care if you don't like watching teams with that level of 'defensive discipline'. Fact is, it won Italy the World Cup and Greece the Euros. We'd love to play winning cavalier football like the Barcelonas, Mancs and Arsenals, but teams with limited resources can not do that i'm afraid... and that very much includes US.

At the end of the day Everton came to Anfield to get something from the game and they did. Job ****ing done... now stop whining about it!

If we had a bit more defensive discipline and bite in our play at the start of the season we may have been closer to challenging for the title, but hey-ho i'm sure 'you' were delighted watching us invite teams to play through us.

I saw a clear penalty when crouch was taken out off the ball too. my mum would have saved that johnson shot.
Well i disagree. Bitter per chance?

football is supposed to be an entertainment business, both teams should be going for the win, playing 10 behind the ball and playing for a point is absolutely pathetic, everton know they are going to finish mid table so what would be the harm in making a game out of it? whoopee ****ing doo they got a point, big deal, it makes no difference to there league standing, they just bored half the planet in the process

What's this about. Is there some FIFA regulation stating you should 'just have a go'.

Why is it pathetic? All points matter. In an ideal world teams would just play until someone lost, but we don't live in an idealistic world... those are the breaks, draws are there to be won. If they get into Europe then they'll look back and say 'that game at Anfield was a hard fought, well-earned point'... and that would be far from "absolutely pathetic" as you called it.

How do Everton KNOW they are going to finish mid-table... not at all. They have every conceivable reason to challenge for Europe, far-fetched i know, but there where plenty on here chasing no. 19 until recently... maybe even still.

                    "The perfect game"...

They had a game-plan. They carried it out perfectly and won a point against the odds.

They were happy (understatement). Job done... "The perfect game" from their perspective.

Tactically they pissed all over us and we had no answer for it.

I find it quite revealing that Everton played exactly the same as Portmouth did yet Portsmouth weren't slated half as much by people on here.

I don't know how anyone could slate Everton (or any other team for that matter). Who the **** are we to criticise/dictate to other clubs how to play...? Smacks of desperation IMO.

If only we could convince every other club in europe to play 2-2-6 we'd be laughing.

Difference being that the Portsmouth fans, owner, manager and players KNOW they are a smaller club.

Everton believe they aren't. Though deep down they know it and that's why they are bitter.
