    This Is Anfield

I caught this programme on ESPN Classic last night and thought two things:

    1. Mark Lawrenson should concentrate more on speaking from the heart and less on trying to be an entertainer (either with his "jokes" or his Weltschmerz). He came across really well and it was nice to feel good about one of the best centre-backs that ever wore red.

    2. Our away kit should always be white shirts with a red collar, black shorts and red socks. It looked brilliant.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I wholeheartedly agree. Especially with your second point - that to me has always been our "real" or "classic" away kit. In the same way that Man City always had red and black stripes.

Oh, and kudos for the use of "Weltschmerz".

      BASTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!

I meant to record this and I forgot. Still, with it being on the ESPN Classics channel, I assume it will be repeated forty five thousand times before the year's out? I hope so.

Interesting comments about 'Lawro', Neil. I've never known him to 'speak from the heart'. He's always trying too hard to be sardonic.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yes. In fact it's on this afternoon at 4.30, if you can tear yourself away from work in time.

Scrolling down a little further I note there is a half-hour programme on our greatest ever player at 10 tonight. The reminder is set and the boy will be instructed to sit and watch it, as happened last night.

I really wish I could stop indoctrinating him, poor lad.

It's called 'Parental Responsibility'....it's your job and he will thank-you in the years to come and tell his sons of the debt of gratitude he owes you for it.

On the contrary….sounds like you’re doing a fine job. How old is he?

I won’t quite catch the repeat this afternoon but it’s comforting to know it’s being repeated already. Also looking forward to the documentary on Craig Johnston tonight.

                  16. He doesn't need to be indoctrinated either, that mission was accomplished many years ago.

I know. That's why I have to stop doing it.
