Let's take our blinkers off, Carrick and Alonso are very good and very similar. Only a biased old fool with a withered hand would fail to recognise that.

Can it be said that Carrick fits in to United's jigsaw better than Xabi does into ours? After all he seems to have completed them, whilst we are still short in a few departments.

By the way we are never biased. Xabi is the best in his position in the world, whilst Carrick is an average trundler getting carried by Scholes.

I hate the Mancs but no one has yet explained how the (very defensive minded) midfield of Scholes, Giggs and Ronaldo ever manages to contain an attack.
