    Ayala:Too old?

    He is on the move.

Too old or a stop-gap perhaps?

His chance has probably gone now but I'd still have him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Maybe just to try to get Paletta to settle, had a good world cup but probably not Liverpool standard anymore. If he came he would be another Pellagrino.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Harsh.

IMO he has another couple of top class seasons left in him.Help Paletta to have him here too.

Pellegrino is a poor mans Ayala.

He is more than good enough for our starting 11, but I doubt we'll sign him. With Paletta and Agger, we really dont need another CB.

Didn't Ballague say on Five-live that we had looked at the possibility and were put off by the fact we would have to pay a transfer fee.

I think he could still do a job for us, however there would be a risk of being exposed if we played him with Sami. I guess he would be worth a shout to come in and rotate with Hyypia but it would seem unlikely he would want to do that and I can't see the advantage of breaking up the Sami-Carra partnership for a player who will in all likelyhood last no longer than Sami at the club.

Great player, but I don't think we need him. Carragher and Hyypia are both pretty resilient players - and like others have mentioned we now have good back-up in Paletta and Agger.

However both players are very young and have time on their side. Agger is injury prone, and Paletta is adapting to a new country and language (Agger's been here 8 months). Signing Ayala would be a masterstroke (although the above points about country and language will apply equally to Ayala).

I think its all about quality and i think the majority feel he has that in abundance. He would need time to fit into the English game but he could be very good, along the lines Laurent Blanc did when he gradually settled into the game here. The warning against that is that it did take him a while, this could happen with Ayala.
