    Paletta to Leeds?

There's a few links flying around, without any quotes, suggesting Wise would like Paletta on loan till the end of the season.

Is Leeds the right type of club to be sending our young defenders out on loan, what if they get relegated, will that not be to the detriment of his psyche in the end, even if short lived.

If they were mid table and battling for a play-off place, I might think differently, but the culture of basement Championship football is not the best place to be learning your English type football is it?

Unfortunately, every time I've seen Paletta play he has looked like a complete and utter liability.

He's incredibly raw and needs some first team football under his belt.

A season at Leeds would do him the world of good.

They (Eng FL) have no restrictions on loans, only PL clubs do (except emergency goalies).

I think Championship clubs and below are allowed to loan players regardless of the transfer window.

There's an extra transfer window for loan signings for Football League clubs only.

I agree that a season at Leeds would be beneficial to the lad - he has been poor, but I think the criticism he has gotten on these boards is way OTT.
The guy is not yet 21, has played a total of FIVE games for us (one as sub) and has come from another continent.
You'd swear he was the worst player on the planet.

I'm dubious but I think that he does need first team football. The fact is that his confidence will be low, and it is a risk but if he doesn't get experience in English football he may well never adapt. I think it depends on how Leeds have been playing of late.

However overall, I think the benefits of first team experience and the psychological boost of a possible successful escape from relegation means that it is a risk worth taking in my opinion.

It was just the way he was ruthlessly exposed against Arsenal that worried me.

This Areobla (sp) lad can also play center back, so we've got sufficient cover.

                      Hope this deal comes off.

Sure - I'm all for him going out on loan.
The new guy is Arbeloa...takes a bit of getting used to.

I am not being funny but the only game he has looked **** in was against Arsenal, he was alright against Brum and Reading against Gala he wasn't that bad either.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he needs to go on loan though, people on here are judging him on one game.

I agree. He's even scored for us.
