Alves and Simao have both came on in the Brazil Portual game.
Interesting to see how they get on.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Mexes would cost £7.5m. Rafa has been interested in him if I remember things right. He could be a good option if Rafa want to play with three central defenders.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Simao just scored the first goal for Portugal, nicely taken goal too, would still prefer Alves though.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:

I think that the difference between Simao and Alves is that Alves is a much better team player and much better in defense.
Simao may be a little better attacking but Alves is the more complete player and that's why Rafa have tried to sign him the last 30 months or so.
Alves is the totally dominating player for Sevilla and that's why he will cost a fortune to sign.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

we could also swap Lahm for Bale maybe. Bale being british keeps in with these new regulations, and he is younger.
Alves is a must. He would add so much to our team.
Villa/ or Huntelaar for me, i'd be happy with either TBH. They both bang in goals for fun.
we could also move for Vicente.....he's still young, and looks like he has gotten over his injury worries."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

The sooner people realise we'll never win the league with Craig 'seven goals' Bellamy, as a first choice striker, the better.

I think that ideally we would have Alves to give lots of tactical options on the right. However as our team stands creativity and goal scoring are the main attributes I would want in wide players. So I would actually prefer Simao even though from the limited amount of Alves I have seen I suspect he is all round a better player.Originally posted by AFII View PostI think that the difference between Simao and Alves is that Alves is a much better team player and much better in defense.
