They may have gotten some terms wrong, but readily admitted it. I think any changes they want to make for the stadium will be for the better for the fans because they want the fans to like the stadium and want to be there. As for some of the other words they may have used, even if they sounded offensive, is most likely due to the difference in culture or business terminology. Understanding what people say on here sometimes is difficult and I have to get it translated. I think they have the team's best interest at heart and will want us to win everything there is to win. America is big on winning. And I believe Rafa will be able to buy whomever he wants, though I do not believe he will buy everyone like Jose does/did just because he can. He will use his brain. I'm sure they will not be to everyone's liking, but I do hope they will do as they said, which will only be for the good of the club.

      Very true!

It's always better to prepare yourself for the worst in every aspect of life, then anything that goes well is seen a lovely little bonus.

      Optimism is overated.

The other thing I like is that they don't seem to be ditherers. Moores loved the club too much I think, he ued to let his heart rule his head sometimes, purely conjecture on my part of course.
These lads might not be lovers of football or LFC but they'll get the job done and seem to have a genuine apetite for success.
The fact that they want a shovel in the ground in the next 60 days is an immediate reflection of that.

          Gillett...

Rat faced, sleazy, talkative, suspicious looking runt. Constantly talked about us as a 'franchise', and made me cringe throughout the interview. He basically confirmed we will 'sell out' by naming our stadium the 'Adidas Arena' or other such bollocks and claimed his son was a 'goal tender'. ****ing embarrassing.

I'm ****ing terrified about all this. I've got a feeling a very large part of the clubs's soul has just died.
Do you post like this just to get a reaction?!

I like them both. Gillette was the bubbly one, always smiling & cracking a joke while Hicks was more quiet & reserved.
I think they understand what OUR club is all about & they want to build on our success.
I am optimisitc that #19 & # 6 wont be too far away.

I thought it would be the other way round. Hick seemed lost for words at times. Gillett definitely said the right things imo.

As for the rest franchise, is an american word - they are Americans.

Naming rights? Well, money to go straight for the team he said, if they decided to do it. I have no problem with that. It's the 21 century.

What's the real beef about him saying goal tender? I mean, you need to grow up.

                  I genuinely dont, no.

It's lovely to see everyone is so sold on them, and are already plotting lifting the title next May, but if you dont mind, I will remain sceptical.

                    I'm very excited.
We needed serious investment - we've got it.
We needed a new stadium - we've got it.
We needed money to buy new players and we needed Rafa to left be alone to do his job - looks like we've got that too.
We needed to MARKET our club along the lines of our competitors Chelski and the Scum.
It remains to be seen if this can be accomplished, but who better to have on board than these two?
The Americans invented marketing and they have the wherewithall to drag us into 21st century of sport.

Let's see if they're up to the challenge though.

Seems to be saying the right things from the part of the PC I saw. Key thing I heard is that there will be no debt to the club.

I like the fact that Moores stays on as Life President.

I didn't feel they were dishonest about anything at this stage. They even said they'd go for stadium naming rights if they felt it was right which was a potentially controversial and potentially unpopular thing to say, but they said it, so maybe they're straight up.

There's also nothing in their history that says they use sports clubs to asset strip.

I'd prefer someone who was as nutty about LFC as I am, but thats because I'd KNOW their intentions were right. With non Reds that much is still in doubt. One can only look at their past records which seem ok so far, and let time do the telling.

So "goal-tender and defenceman" are little more than a humourous aside to me.
in fact the less they know the better

thought it was a good press conference.

the talk of why Gillett wasn't considered at 1st, seemed honest.

they seemed to off had a history lesson and that shows something.

seemed stright talking and they know what makes money is success.

Gillett seemed so confident infront of the camera's, I liked him seems someone who calls a spade a spade.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF
