Not me of course, I'm running a Marathon in May.

    Really?

How strange that you haven't mentioned it. I could have given you some advice.

Lets be honest, I've lost track of the number of hat-tricks Robbie has scored against Arsenal too

I'm one of the American reds that has taken a bit of **** for being a football fan and how I really can't be a fan since I'm a sodding American ****. However, it didn't stop me from loving Liverpool Football Club and it never will. I am very happy about the takeover.

I liked what I heard. I just hope it all comes true. One of my best friends is a hockey fanatic and was very excited when I told her about Gillett and Hicks. She knew all about them and sent me a very long email detailing what she knew.

At the very least I hope some LFC merchandise will be made available here that does not cost a fortune in shipping. I also think they will sort the merchandise problem quickly. No more "currently unavailable". They will want to make money and will not like seeing that bit of nonsense.

All in all, I agree with cine_boy.

I can rattle off the first five or six miles, no problem.

          It's the next 20, I'm worried about!

As an American, I have to say that I know we have a ****e President and people think we're fat, stupid and rich, and I also know that our countrymen are still learning the game (although there are lots of Reds in the USA who love the side and know plenty about our history and the Liverpool way), but I have to say, I am proud that we have new investment and ownership from the USA. I said before, it doesn't make me feel closer to the side (I'm already hooked), but it does bring me belief in one thing; Americans are traditionally unsentimental about sport in relation to business, and I think that the two new owners will run this team like a business, the goal being success, profitability, long term stability, and Championships (which ultimately lead to the aforementioned goals). I think it will be a very good thing for my beloved club.

That said, as an American, I feel as though I now run this place, so you all best start doing what you're told.

Seriously, any American Reds want to check in?

                        Great stuff mate

I was totally pissed off when I heard that DIC had pulled out and that 2 American dudes are coming to Anfield. I said to meself "OMG, another two who call footie soccer". But then I trust David Moores and why wouldn't I, when he said that he wants nothing but the best for the club?

As I was watching the press conference today I realised that Gillet and Hicks aren't so bad afterall. I mean, they've said some great stuff, laughed and joked around a bit... I was impressed... Sort of...

When I first heard that 2 Americans want to buy the club, all I was thinking of was that the Scum Utd story musn't repeat again! If there would be any dept put upon our favourite footie club's shoulders, I'd go to Liverpool and beat the hell out of those two. But it seems it's all okay.

We're just gonna have to put up with Scum and CSKA London supporters singing about this takeover thingy for a while... Hey, at least we gave them a new song to sing when they're not playing us.

I just hope Gillet and Hicks take us to the next levell. We were so near the top without having a lot of money to spend like Chavs and Scum do. Imagine now what will we do with a bigger transfer kitty... In few years time, Rafa will repeat that famous quote: "We've had some bad times too - one year we finished second!"

PS: And I'm also glad this takeover saga is over! Now I can sleep without Sheikhs from DIC interrupting me dreams about having threesome with Nicky Hilton and that chick from Mythbusters

Another American Red checking in. I have followed Liverpool since 1977 - my grandmother was from Birkenhead and moved to New Orleans after the war. Her sisters starting sending me kits when they found out I played Football instead of football. My pride and joy is my poster of the team with King Kenny's autograph. Do to the wonder called Direct TV I am making up for years of support that consisted only of reading the end-of-year football reviews that I used to get in Christmas parcels to driving my better-half bonkers with unadulterated LFC football mania. My boys are getting into the act as well (Would I love to one day see my boys playing in first team LFC )

I am a hockey fan as well, and a Dallas Stars fan at that (My family and I live near Dallas). Hicks has been very commited to winning with the Stars. HarveyBirdman is correct in his posts when he says that the Stars have been very strong in the NHL for the last 7 years or so. I have spoken to several mates of mine, who are die-hard Rangers fans, and again, they have been satisfied with his commitment to winning.

All I can say is that I thank God everyday that my Scouse family were on the Red side of the Mersey

Unfortunately, people from Birkenhead are not only from the wrong side of the River but they're definitely not Scousers. Sorry...
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.

Well, the education continues, I suppose

I post infrequently enough, and with the time difference that at least I will likely avoid being KurtAngled. Alas, I don't seem to need much help.

I assume then, that Birkenhead are traditionally bitters?
