That`s what worries me.Chelsea attracted alot of players who came only for the money.that`s why they remain a souless pit.

Wages have to covered by income (except for one club - which is why some rule has to be instigated at least), and that hasn't yet altered at all.

The first change will be TV increase, only when we have that increase in income can we offer a wage packet comenserate with expectations, and I have no doubt a wage structure will also be implemented to match that as well.

You have to have some top earners, some middle earners, and some worker earners for the whole thing to work, that will not change either.

Do you think that will still be the case when we go for "world class players"?

Of course, that's how things are done in the real world, even in football, all less one club of course, we do not have a bottomless pit and thge wage structure will be adhered to, otherwise what is now known as "doing a Leeds" will ensue.

                  Dont panick just yet.
The Premiership has just agreed a record fee for internation coverage of their games, the clubs, now, more than ever are starting to roll in the cash. TV deals are getting bigger all the time. £30m for coming last in the Premiership for just one season?.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                  * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

It`s better to think of these things now instead of floating along on the "Everything is rosy" cloud.

Just wondering what fellow fans think.

Also, won`t new players coming in be making huge wage demands therefore upsetting the likes of SG and Xabi? There`s alot of potential pitfalls with the extra cash injection. Greed is a terrible thing!!!!!
Top players like Gerrard, Alonso and Carragher will probably each have a contract clause stating their wages must at least match any new recruit. So if we bring in (say) Fernando Torres on £120k a week Stevie, Xabi and Carra will all be ****ing distraught to find out their wages will have to rise accordingly...

Thing is as well, the prem in general pays ridiculous wages in comparrison to other leagues, so unless 2 clubs over here are fighting for the signature of a foreigner, they'll get what they're offered and be happy with it 9 times out of ten.

Ah, so if we choose not to think of these things now (I mean, we are mere fans) - ipso facto we are 'float along on the "Everything is Rosy" cloud'....stunningly logical.

At Chavski both Lamplars and Terry have clauses in their contracts that they will be the highest earners at the club.

Chavski sign Chavchenko on £120k per week - both Lamplard and Terry get new contracts.

Chavski then sign Ballack on £130k per week - same happens.
