    Do you care...........?

if we sell the naming rights to the new stadium.

Should the old guard insist that the stadium is called "Anfield" or "The new Anfield" or "Stanley Park" or "Insert Corporate name here stadium"?

After all,the naming rights money could bring in one great player per year.

    Whats your opinion?

True in some case's. For example Manchester City.

I know a fair few Citeh Supporters Most of them say that 'i'm off to watch citeh tonight etc, as saying the City of Manchester Stadium is a bit long winded. Citeh fans have been trying since 2002 to get a proper football name for the stadium without any luck. Some call it The COMS or Eastlands but it still lacks the passion in a fans voice when you can say I'm off to Anfield, Maine Road and the most famous I'm off to Wembley. Wembley is a prime example IMO it just won't be the same if they named it 'Multiplex National Stadium'

Before all the money men in suits got involved, I would have given my life protecting Anfield as our ancestral spiritual home.

Now, it's a necessary evil amongst other necessary evils, the new place will not be Anfield as we know it, it's just a new stadium where we ply our football, so bottom line, couldn't give a **** what they call it, as long as they maximise the potential in keeping with the trends, I just hope the new generation will care as much about the new place as I did the old place, sure - it will take a generation or so for the crossover to be complete where us oldies can & will look back with fondness on the Old Lady etc, and it will be nothing but us oldies with our stories sat in the corner of pubs whinging & whining etc whereas the new place will be buzzing with the new generation and their history.

Let's embrace the moving on, and not keep looking back, gone but never forgotten, always a place in our hearts & rightly so.

firstly,i`m new here and still learning the navigation of the site,so i fecked up the poll on this thread and put it on the other identicle thread "Do you care?"I hoped this thread would be deleted and the thread wth the poll would be answered.

Anyhoo,i`m with you on the naming rights. We`ve timed the takeover lovely, moving from "Anfield" does`nt mean the new stadium should be named "Anfield" aswell if it means losing out on big money and No.19!!!

6 votes,1 for "Anfield",2 for "New Anfield",2 for "Stanley Park" and me for "Corporate" so far.......interesting!!!

          *Thanks LFC4ever*

It could also be "Corporate Anfield Stadium"

Pointless me voting, there isn't a "Not Really Bothered" box! What's on the outside is irrelevant to what goes on inside on the pitch.

I`m sure the Arsenal fans are warming to thier new 60,000 seater stasium paid for by corporate funding even though it`s not called "Highbury".We can adapt.

Yeah but the extra money to ensure sucess would be helpfull,i`d prostitute the name of the stadium to compete against the Manure,Chelski and ARSE-nil.

I agree, but I'm indifferent to naming rights, if they do - great, if they don't - great, there are greater worries in the world than the naming of a football stadium, and one things for sure, it will outlive me.

I dont think it really matters what the new stadium gets called, it will always be known as Anfield to the people who count - the fans.

The current stadium is Anfield, I think it would detract from the history and the magic of the place to give the new stadium the same name.
