This is a funny thread. A CLASH between REDS and MAESTRO! I love it!!Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostShaggy if you're out there make us all some 'green' tea will you?

For what it's worth, I think Riise's **** too!!!!!!!
He infuriates me, and even when he's playing well as a very important part of our solid back four, I am still continually infuriated by his horrific one-footedness. His lack of a right foot is a liability, and IMO he's an agricultural footballer.
I wouldn't sell him though. I wanna see a much better left back as the regular in that position for us, but he'd give us possibilities as a squad member - left back or left mid - and his engine is top class. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Jon Arne Riise is a superb left back, who is just having a **** season.
Statistically, we've got the best defense in the Premiership.
There has been zero realistic competition for his place for years and years now, I dont blame him for getting a little complacent, even Fabio 'crap freekicks' Aurelio hasn't put any pressure on him, until recently.
Some of you guys, are far, far too negative for my liking.

From the Daily Telegraph........Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostI was going to put him on my draft list but didnt as Rafa clearly thinks he's useful to play in some matches.
IMO he can go we can get a better player then him
Mourinho claimed that Benitez would have known for weeks that he would use the height and power of Crouch and Kuyt against a flimsy back four. The Liverpool manager replied that he took the decision at the club's training ground at around 9.30 on the morning of the game, just as Carvalho was reporting unwell. Whatever the truth, Chelsea's frailties were exposed by a flick from Crouch which Kuyt took past Paulo Ferreira and buried in Petr Cech's net. The clock showed three minutes and 21 seconds.
I think Crouch has done a great job and still has another season on him.

What a mad thread, looks for players that /HAVEN'T/ been mentioned, don't need more than one hand for that, cloud cuckoo land, for starters Crouch is first choice starter for England tonight, which says it all about how highly he is regarded by coaches.
<Goes back to the ****ing section for some reality>

Spot on those are the players I get rid off in footy manager exept Fowler I give him a tiny contract and let him play in the ressies and some first team games.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI think this lot are certain for the chop this summer:
Zenden
Kewell
Fowler (pleeeeeeeeease stay in some capacity!)
Dudek
Cisse
The ****ing "gems"
This lot are "possibilities" to go IMO:
Riise
Pennant
Bellamy
Hyypia
CrouchI think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Riise is adequate, he's used to the premiership, he scores the odd good goal and he does a job.
We should be able to get a better player in, but who? It is for this reason that I can see Riise staying next season, at least until a good left back has bedded in. A lot depends on aurelio, he's got a lot to prove in my opinion, he seems good at passing, but he has grave defensive frailties. If he overcomes these then he could overtake riise.
As for others, I agree with Sirbob as per. Continuity is a crucial part of success. Wholesale first team changes will cause instability. I think Rafa appreciates this and will thus go for 4 or 5 players for the first team squad.Originally posted by Gordon Brown

i see Cisse for Ribery which will lead to Pennant leavin in the Jan Window.
Think a world class striker will come in and dependent on his particular strength Bellamy or Crouch will leave.
Gonzales maybe given another season in the premiership or he may be loaned out again if we bring a top class left winger in.
Alves will replace finnan gruadually over the season
The rest of Houillers ****e will be given to anyone who will have them.
I also think Rafa will make a statement by bringing in a 15m+ wonderkid...the next aguero whoever he maybe!!
the only safe ones from our first team are
Reina
agger
Carragher
Finnan
Mashy
Alonso
Gerrard
Kuyt
and momo as he is boss
EVERYBODY else is in danger of being upgraded_____________________________________

Crouch? Definitely safe? Interesting, I hope he isn't sold but I wouldn't have thought he was one of the chosen few.
Maschareno isn't our player to sell
He's a loan signing. He belongs to West Ham.

Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, Finnan, Alonso, Kuyt, Crouch, Sissoko, Agger and Mascherano (if he ever gets cleared to play for us)._____________________________________

I don't see the point of getting rid myself.Originally posted by Red Chilli View PostCrouch? Definitely safe? Interesting, I hope he isn't sold but I wouldn't have thought he was one of the chosen few.

He's a unique player, admittedly not everyones cup of tea but he can be very effective if utilised properly. And of course as we know Rafa rates him.
Then again Newcastle might offer something daft for him, still I just can't see it. Not with Robbie going and Cisse being sold. The point's already correctly been made on this thread that we can't afford too many changes. The more changes we make the longer it'll take to gel. We don't want a repeat of the beginning of this season next year.
Plus I'd like to see Crouch play with some proper wide players supplying crosses.I hate Polanski

Yes I don't want him to go either, but I don't see him as definitely safe. I see him as expendable if the right replacement comes along. THe others , Maschareno excepted, are not expendable IMO.Originally posted by Gordon Brown
