    I don't think it's a bad deal myself!

Ok, it's still with Carlsberg, who've backed us when we've needed them over recent years, and if it's not set in stone then there's still a chance of changing! I don't know what Gillett and Hicks have to say about this but if they can influence it in another direction I'm sure they will. Depends what the deal with Carlsberg is I suppose, and how far down the line we've gone!

A few more years with them might not be 'the end of the world' as some seem to think, and an improved deal at that isn't seeing us being robbed either is it! I think it's the case that Spurs are getting more than us is what's bothering some people, but as has been said, they were just in the right place at the right time I think!

Everyone probably hoped that especially with new owners that we'd have a new shirt sponsor, but I feel we may go down the road of having the same shirt and stadium sponsors, when that happens, but I may be wrong though - who knows what the two new owners have in mind for us?!

Time will tell, bu I don't think that this new Carlsberg deal, if it is confirmed soon, will be as bad as some are making out.

okay on a quick look, here's what it breaks down into per club for a year and the second figure is how much extra the club gets over the 3 year duration of our contract. So the difference with Spurs is negligible in big money terms and the Chelsea deal is probably worth 1 decent player extra. The main one to look at is the mancs one which is light years ahead of ours.

      Man U – 14.125mil ---- 20.775mil extra
      Chelsea – 10mil -------- 8.4mil extra
      Spurs – 8.5mil ---------- 3.9mil extra
      Liverpool – 7.2mil

I'm happy to stick with our current sponsors and let G+T spend the next couple of years getting us a really good deal close to the one the mancs have.

Here's some inside info: we only did it to stick two fingers up at DIC cos the shirts will never be wearable in Dubai

PS Whoever mentioned Virgin as a possible sponsor please, I would puke if they got the gig. As if Branson isn't enough of a smug **** already, Virgin is the worst, tightest and most unappreciative company I have had the misfortune to work for

Who gives a **** if Carlsberg is on the shirt. Seriously, when I wear a Liverpool top the last thing I think about is the Carlsberg written on it and the fact that I am wearing it is promoting drinking. The only thing I care about is letting people know who I support. I've never had anyone see me wearing the top and ask me where they can get a Carlsberg from.

I think that could be a detriment to a muslim fan. Imagine a muslim wearing a shirt with a big carlsberg logo in front of his T Shirt. It would have been more appropriate to find a sponsorship deal with Hallal.

Fiddy, sorry if Virgin are **** to work for. In my twenty some years experience of transatlantic flying, they're better than anyone else at making passengers happy, whether in the cheap seats or in business class.

                  It's a rubbish deal.

Says it all about our previous board!

Liverpool FC is the only brand in football which has the potential to reach the level of the manc scum.

I personally think it great. I've just bought my Danish girlfriend a shirt with Carlberg on. There I was thinking that it would be the last chance to get one with a Danish brand on it.

it doesn't say the deal is done, just on the verge, this means nothing.

Something does not add up in these two statements though...
prior to the takeover by Gillett and Hicks,
we were talking to DIC about the takeover.

How on earth then could we have decided to renew our arrangement with Carlsberg if our prospective owners were strict Muslims???
