Thanjk you.

I think United will be looking for in the following order: a holding midfielder, a winger (to replace Giggs but Ronaldo might go left or they could bring in a similar player capable of doing either - which is exactly what we want) and then a striker. They managed to get Larsson on loan but without him they would look very short of options.
well hopefully rossi will do well in italy and they can keep him as back up. You may be right saha is pretty injury prone. but i dont see Scum shelling out 60million in the summer and hargreaves(20) + Torres(25) + exciting winger

I'm not suggesting they will go out and get them all just that they may be competition for the limited number of really top players which we need to close the gap on them/Chelsea.

They would tick all the boxes for the striker, right midfielder and Left Back that we need. We probably need another centre half next season to complement Carra and Agger. Sami may get another season as back up but that will still leave us short. I can see Paletta going out on loan next season.

So you are happy with our options at left midfield? I know that Gonzalez deserves a chance, but in my opinion having two creative wide players who chip in with a few goals is more important than getting another striker.

Alves would be on my list too.
I dont want Lahm at left back. He is too short IMO!
I would be very nervous of how Villa would adapt to the Prem if we bought him.
Not that I have any good alternatives to Lahm and Villa that is...
I'm reserving judgement on our options at left midfield until the end of the season. We've got a lot of left sided players who can play there - Riise, Gonzalez, Aurelio and, dare I say his name, Kewell. Garcia is also an option on the left.
I definitely think we need to buy a 'world class' striker. Realistically next season, Fowler will be gone leaving only Crouch, Kuyt, Bellamy and maybe Pongolle as our options up front. I just can't see that front four scoring the goals that a Premiership winning team needs, even with two wide men constantly chipping in with the odd goal or two.

I just think we need to carve out chances more frequently. Kuyt will be a better player next year in my opinion and with threats from out wide you could play Garcia behind the forward as he seems to be the player in the squad with the quickest reactions in the box (certainly other than Fowler who will be leaving in the summer). We do need another forward in the squad but I would be happy with us taking a chance with a lesser known player if it meant we had more money to spend on the supply line.
