Liverpool look set to be the latest club who hope to sign Manchester United winger Christiano Ronaldo during the summer.
Liverpool Boss Rafa Benitez has been handed an open cheque book by new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks, and looks set to make a cheeky bid to their bitter rivals at the end of the season.
Ronaldo has been in magnificent form for United this season and already has 15 goals to his name. Rumours have been mounting in recent weeks that the Portuguese winger could be heading to Spain with both Real Madrid and Barcelona keen to sign the talented youngster.
Bids in excess of £45 million have been touted to secure the signature of Ronaldo - a fee that the new Liverpool board can comfortably afford.
