    Players off to portugal for a break

    Was talking last night to an old mate, he now lives in portugal
    owns a few properties,and is a golf pro out there and according to him the team are flying out for a weeks training in the sun.probably getting prepared for the Barca game

    He is a golf pro out there and a few of the players have booked him for some tuition.

    Rafael Benitez believes swapping the artic weather conditions in England for the sun of Portugal is the ideal way to prepare for the forthcoming Champions League tie against Barcelona.
    The Liverpool squad will escape the icy clutches of this country on Monday when they fly out to the Algarve for a five-day training camp.

    With no game scheduled for next weekend, Benitez is fully utilising this rare opportunity to get away with his team ahead of the big Nou Camp clash on February 21 and hopes they'll reap the benefits in terms of both fitness and morale.

    He said: "We will go to a camp to prepare for the game. We have a period of 10 days, which gives us time, so we decided to do this.

    "I think it will be good for team spirit, but it will also provide a change of weather, so maybe that will help us train a little bit better because the pitches here are not in the best of conditions right now."

        another holiday? ffs theyve just had a holiday at maclarens shooting/finishing resort and that never did them any good

          10 days till the next match, christ this place is going to be /fun/ isn't it?

          They'll be fighting with their own shadows just to liven things up!

          OK, I'm off to scan ESPN to see if anything worthwhile watching!!
